We report a case of liver amoebic abscesses in a 58-year-old man referred for a FDG PET/CT with an initial diagnosis of secondary hepatic lesions. This patient, coming from Sri Lanka, presented with fever and shivers, pain in the right flank, vomiting, and diarrhea for a month. The FDG PET/CT showed a hepatic heterogeneous uptake with multiple cold lesions surrounded by a faint hypermetabolism.

Introduction: Nocardiosis is a rare, generally systemic infection that occurs in immunocompromised patients. We report a case of Nocardia farcinica primary brain abscess in an immunocompetent patient, unusually associated with a pulmonary embolism.

Observation: A 62 year-old woman without medical past was hospitalised because of a Bravais-Jacksonian type of seizure.

Objective: To investigate the impact of non-lipodystrophy HAART-related side effects on unprotected sexual behaviours among HIV-infected drug users. DESIGNAND PARTICIPANTS: HAART-treated patients who reported having occasional partners during the follow-up period after HAART initiation were selected among patients of the MANIF 2000 cohort of HIV-infected drug users.

Methods: Visits where patients reported unsafe sexual behaviours with occasional partners were compared to visits where they reported safe sexual behaviours using a logistic model based on Generalized Estimating Equations.

THE SITUATION: Invasive fungal infections are increasing and are associated with high rates of morbidity and mortality. The recent emergence of new molecules and antifungal classes raises the hope of new therapeutic perspectives. SECOND GENERATION TRIAZOLES: Voriconazole, ravuconazole and posaconazole have a broader spectrum than the first generation, including notably Aspergillus species and Candida species, resistant to fluconazole.
