Aim: This paper is a report of a study to evaluate the construct validity of the four-dimensional Caring Nurse-Patient Interaction-Short Scale using confirmatory factor analysis.

Background: Validating theoretical structures of caring is an ongoing challenge in the discipline of nursing. Our previous work has contributed to this literature by the exploration of the dimensionality of the Caring Nurse-Patient Interaction Short Scale via an exploratory factor analysis.

Salivary production in Parkinson's disease.

Hypersialorrhea is a common phenomenon in Parkinson disease (PD). The objective of this study was to determine whether patients with PD had an abnormally increased production of saliva and whether the production of saliva could be associated to factors related to either the disease characteristics or to its treatment. A total of 83 patients with PD and 55 control subjects participated in this study.

Varicella vaccine: factors influencing uptake.

Background: In Canada, varicella vaccine is recommended but its uptake has been low. In contrast to most other recommended paediatric vaccines, this one is not currently provided free of charge in all provinces and territories in Canada.

Objective: To evaluate the rate of health care provider offer of varicella vaccine to parents and the most important determinants of parental decision to accept the offer.
