Background: This study aimed to validate the role of the D-dimer to lymphocyte ratio (DLR) for mortality prediction in a large national cohort of hospitalized coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients.
Methods: A retrospective, multicenter, observational study that included hospitalized patients due to SARS-CoV-2 infection in Spain was conducted from March 2020 to March 2022. All biomarkers and laboratory indices analyzed were measured once at admission.

- - This study examined gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms in hospitalized COVID-19 patients across multiple countries to understand how frequently these symptoms occur and their relationship to the severity of the disease.
- - Among 829 patients, common GI symptoms included anorexia, diarrhea, nausea/vomiting, and abdominal pain, but these were generally mild, resolved quickly, and not linked to worse COVID-19 outcomes.
- - The research also found that a significant number of patients experienced liver injury, but similar to the GI symptoms, it did not correlate with the severity of COVID-19 illness.
Background: The effects of cardiometabolic drugs on the prognosis of diabetic patients with COVID-19, especially very old patients, are not well known. This work was aimed to analyze the association between preadmission cardiometabolic therapy (antidiabetic, antiaggregant, antihypertensive, and lipid-lowering drugs) and in-hospital mortality among patients ≥80 years with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) hospitalized for COVID-19.
Method: We conducted a nationwide, multicenter, observational study in patients ≥80 years with T2DM hospitalized for COVID-19 between March 1 and May 29, 2020.
