Agricultural production is the practice that uses the most water on the planet, especially the irrigated agriculture, which represents a large part of this demand. As well as the quantitative issue, adequate quality is essential to meet the demands of the crop and its return to the water sources, in a way that does not cause damage to the environment. The aim of this study was to evaluate P availability, P and C contained in the microbial biomass, and enzymatic activity (acid phosphatases and β-glucosidases) in a Nitisol with the application of mineral and organo-mineral fertilizers. The experiment was performed in a protected environment with control over air temperature and soil moisture. The experimental design was organized in a "5 x 4" factorial arrangement with five sources of P and four times of soil incubation.

Introduction: Migraine with aura in children is often described, but communications of typical aura without headache are rare, and persistent aura and Alice in Wonderland syndrome are exceptional.

Case Report: A 8 years-old girl who experiences during a month one to three brief episodes a day during which she relates: 'I saw things as little and remote, sometimes they moved; one day I saw my sister's books turning bigger, and another day my father getting little as a doll; sometimes my doll's leg swinged, or the blind in the window got up and down'. Later these attacks spaced out to one each to days for another two weeks.

Sulfate-reducing organisms use sulfate as an electron acceptor in an anaerobic respiratory process. Despite their ubiquitous occurrence, sulfate respiration is still poorly characterized. Genome analysis of sulfate-reducing organisms sequenced to date permitted the identification of only two strictly conserved membrane complexes.

In the anaerobic respiration of sulfate, performed by sulfate-reducing prokaryotes, reduction of the terminal electron acceptor takes place in the cytoplasm. The membrane-associated electron transport chain that feeds electrons to the cytoplasmic reductases is still very poorly characterized. In this study we report the isolation and characterization of a novel membrane-bound redox complex from Desulfovibrio desulfuricans ATCC 27774.
