Natural compounds with pharmacological activity, flavonoids have been the subject of an exponential increase in studies in the field of scientific research focused on therapeutic purposes due to their bioactive properties, such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, antibacterial, antiviral, neuroprotective, radioprotective, and antitumor activities. The biological potential of flavonoids, added to their bioavailability, cost-effectiveness, and minimal side effects, direct them as promising cytotoxic anticancer compounds in the optimization of therapies and the search for new drugs in the treatment of cancer, since some extensively antineoplastic therapeutic approaches have become less effective due to tumor resistance to drugs commonly used in chemotherapy. In this review, we emphasize the antitumor properties of tangeretin, a flavonoid found in citrus fruits that has shown activity against some hallmarks of cancer in several types of cancerous cell lines, such as antiproliferative, apoptotic, anti-inflammatory, anti-metastatic, anti-angiogenic, antioxidant, regulatory expression of tumor-suppressor genes, and epigenetic modulation.

Ketamine, also called 'K-powder' by abusers, an analog of phencyclidine, primarily acts as an antagonist of N-methyl-D-aspartic acid (NMDA) receptors, therapeutically used as an anesthetic agent. Ketamine also stimulates the limbic system, inducing hallucinations and dissociative effects. At sub-anesthetic doses, ketamine also displays hallucinatory and dissociative properties, but not loss of consciousness.

Although previous works have employed other LDH derived materials in this reaction, little information on recyclability is published. After observing the initial results on how basicity and surface area were related to the catalytic activty, an LDH modification strategy was developed with the addition of acetic acid.

In particular, households have had a sustained increase of electricity consumption to perform many residential activities. Thus, providing efficient methods to enhance the decision making processes in demand-side management is crucial for achieving a more sustainable usage of the available resources.

Material And Methods: The document is based on the scarce evidence on SARS/Cov-2 and the experience of the authors in handling COVID-19 in their institutions, including specialists from Andalusia, Cantabria, Catalonia, Madrid and the Valencian Community.
Results: The authors defined different priorities for the different clinical situations in PC.
Background: The standard of care is to utilize intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IOM) of triggered electromyography (tEMG) during posterior lumbosacral instrumented-fusion surgery. IOM should theoretically signal misplacement of S1 screws into the neural L5-S1 foramen or spinal canal, utilizing screw stimulation, and recording of the lower limb muscles and the anal sphincter. Here, we evaluated when and whether anterolateral S1 screw malposition could be detected by IOM/tEMG during open posterior lumbosacral instrumented fusion surgery.

The management of spondyloptosis is complex and, essentially, surgical. It usually presents with irreversible neurological compromise.

The biolubricants are environmentally preferred to petroleum-based lubricants because they are biodegradable and non-toxic. Other advantages include very low volatility due to the high molecular weight and excellent viscosity properties with temperature variations.

Socio-demographic data and female reproductive histories were collected in a survey of 1200 post-menopausal women living in the municipality. Average ages at menarche and at menopause were 12.

The family size increased as daughters accumulated because mothers had more pregnancies in order to have higher male offspring, and the reproductive rhythm increased (birth interval decreased) when the first deliveries were only daughters. Although male mortality was higher than female in children older than one year, this reproductive behavior did not determine sex reversal of mortality in babies of between one month and one year, contrary to other developing populations.

Method: One sample of 98 individuals was genotyped from the South of Spain (Alpujarra) and two samples from Morocco (77 Berbers and 78 Arabs).
Results: The frequency of the AMPD1 C34T mutation was lower in Berbers (0.
This paper describes the biological fitness of an urban population of Havana city, Plaza de la Revolución, which has the lowest fertility and the highest demographic ageing in Cuba. The aim is to assess the biological fitness of this community through the indexes of action opportunity of natural selection, to determine its evolutionary pattern and the influence of its socio-cultural peculiarity. Demographic data were obtained from the reproductive histories of 1200 women between the ages of 55 and 64.

A politics of Iberian Christianization followed after this date: Jewish were expelled in 1492 and Moriscos (Spaniards practicing Muslim religion or speaking Arab) were expelled from all Spanish territory on 1609 AD. Las Alpujarras is a southern Spain mountainous secluded region, which underwent a repopulation from North Spain and a specific Muslim (Moriscos)-Christian war took place according to historical records.

Aim: We compared the frequency of the most frequent null CYP2D6 alleles (CYP2D6*3, CYP2D6*4,CYP2D6*5, CYP2D6*6, CYP2D6*7 and CYP2D6*8) between individuals from the Spanish population and from La Alpujarra.
Subjects And Methods: The present study comprises Spanish cohort (n = 185) and from La Alpujarra (n = 104).
Sixteen Y-chromosomal short tandem repeats (STRs) (DYS19, DYS389I, DYS389II, DYS390, DYS391, DYS392, DYS393, DYS385, DYS437, DYS438, DYS439, DYS448, DYS456, DYS458, DYS635 and GATA H4.1) were typed in DNA samples from 52 unrelated men and 15 autosomal STRs (CSF1PO, D2S1338, D3S1358, D5S818, D7S820, D8S1179, D13S317, D16S539, D18S51, D19S433, D21S11, FGA, TH01, TPOX, vWA) were also studied for a group of 90 individuals (men and women) from the same population (Andalusians from La Alpujarra, South of Spain). The Alpujarrenian population represents an example of an isolated population with remarkable geographical, cultural and historical characteristics.

Patterns of population diversity revealed by the two kinds of markers examined were different from one another, likely in relation to their different mutation rates. Therefore, while the Alu biallelic variation underlies general heterogeneity throughout the whole Mediterranean region, the combined use of Alu and STR points to a considerable genetic differentiation between the two Mediterranean shores, presumably strengthened by a considerable sub-Saharan African genetic contribution in North Africa (around 13% calculated from Alu markers).

According to the bibliography reviewed, physiotherapy, which is the most common action taken to alleviate this problem, has not yet been proven to be effective, because of the small size of sample groups and the lack of methodological rigor in the papers published on the subject. No reviews have been made to assess the effectiveness of acupuncture in treating this complaint, but in recent years controlled randomised studies have been made and these demonstrate an increasing use of acupuncture to treat pathologies of the soft tissues of the shoulder.

Consequently, the arrival of immigrants has sharply increased throughout the second half of the twentieth century, with important demographic consequences as well as reproductive changes. The analyses of the age-specific fertility rate (fx) and the total fertility rate (TFR) were used in order to describe the reproductive pattern of this population in 2000.
