Psychological capital, work satisfaction and health self-perception as predictors of psychological wellbeing in military personnel.

Background: Worker wellbeing is known to positively impact both the employer organization and the employee. However, the hardship inherent to military life may hinder the achievement of satisfactory levels of worker wellbeing. In this study we aim to address whether psychological capital, work satisfaction and health self-perception are able to predict psychological wellbeing in a military population.

Premature termination of psychological treatment for anxiety disorders in a clinical setting.

Background: Empirically supported psychological treatments (ESTs) have demonstrated their effectiveness and clinical utility for the treatment of anxiety disorders (AD) but few studies have assessed the factors associated with premature termination in ESTs for AD.

Method: The goals of this study, which involved 291 patients with a diagnosis of anxiety who had received outpatient psychological care, consisted of examining premature termination of treatment (PTT), comparing the individual characteristics of the patients who successfully completed treatment with those who terminate it prematurely, and analyzing the predictors of PTT.

Effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral treatment for major depressive disorder in a university psychology clinic.

Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) is the most prevalent mental disorder in our environment, and one of the main causes of disability. While several empirically supported treatments (ESTs) for MDD exist, some doubts have been cast on the applicability--in time, components, and effectiveness--of these ESTs in routine clinical practice. A few attempts have been made to contrast the effectiveness of ESTs, but usually the precise components of the treatment developed are not considered in detail.

[Effectiveness of treatments for social phobia in an applied field].

Social phobia is one of the most common disorders and one that requires the most attention from psychological clinics. The aim of this article was to study the effectiveness of psychological treatments in a University Psychological Clinic. Seventy-one social phobia patients requested psychological assistance.

[Adolescents and new technologies: Behaviours pointing a possible addiction problem].

The aim of this work is to evaluate adolescents' subjective risk perception derived from the use of the New Technologies (NT), and to identify behaviours or warning symptoms of possible addiction problems. A sample of 1,710 underage students of Madrid responded to the DENA questionnaire. Firstly, we found a positive correlation between the time of NT use and the perception of addiction problems.
