Prevalence of frailty and associated factors in a community-dwelling older people cohort living in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil: Fibra-JF Study.

Frailty is a state of multisystem physiological vulnerability related to aging and an increased risk of adverse outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and associated factors of frailty in the Fibra-JF Study, Minas Gerais, Brazil. We selected a random sample of 461 individuals aged 65 years or more stratified by territorial unit, gender and age.

Complications that increase the time of Hospitalization at ICU of patients submitted to cardiac surgery.

Objective: To show the complications that increase the permanence at intensive care unit (ICU) of the patients submitted to cardiac surgery.

Methods: Eighty-five handbooks of patients submitted to cardiac surgery had been analyzed, retrospectively, from March to May 2009 at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Juiz de Fora (MG)--Brazil--and 14 (16.47%) patients had been studied.

[Cattle helminthiasis: farmers perception in Minas Gerais, Brazil].

This study aimed to characterize the cattle endoparasites control in Minas Gerais State. Questionnaires were applied in 1,304 farms and 1,289 were validated and used in this study. The farms were located at 555 municipalities inserted in 66 Minas Gerais micro-regions and were selected by random sampling.
