Staff doses in interventional radiology: a national survey.

Purpose: To present the results of occupational radiation doses investigated through a national survey promoted by the National Society of Interventional Radiology in Spain.
Materials And Methods: The monthly dosimetric records of 28 interventional radiologists from 10 hospitals were analyzed and filtered to remove inconsistent dosimeter readings. The evaluation of the results includes different workloads as well as different radiation protection habits.
Retinoblastoma (RB) is a malignant childhood tumor that results from loss or inactivation of both alleles of the RB1 gene. Human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA sequences have been found in RB tissue, suggesting a role of the viral infection with RB. We here describe a child with disseminated bilateral RB without familial history, who displayed a loss of material from 10p.

Male Sprague-Dawley rats were kept on a schedule of 12h light (06:00-18:00 h) and 12 h darkness (18:00-06:00 h) for 2 weeks.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: We determined calcium-activated adenosine triphosphatase (Ca-ATPase) activity and thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) of plasma membranes from myometrium and placental trophoblast of normotensive and preeclamptic pregnant women.
Methods: Samples of myometrium were obtained by uterine biopsies taken upon delivery by cesarean section from nulliparous normotensive and preeclamptic pregnant women. Placentas were obtained after full term vaginal delivery from either normotensive or preeclamptic women.
