Purpose: This literature review aims to present evidence-based clinical recommendations for the eight most debated topics related to perioperative management in total knee arthroplasty: counselling, prehabilitation, transfusion risk, tranexamic acid, drainage, analgesia, urinary catheter and compression stockings.

Methods: A multidisciplinary team conducted a systematic review on these topics. The study followed the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines for the literature review and result presentation.

This study evaluates the Patient Acceptable Symptom State (PASS) in patients with slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) treated with in situ fixation, focusing on medium to long-term outcomes and quality of life. Its primary goal is to establish a subjective well-being cutoff, using subjective methods and the iHOT33 scale, for assessing patients in future studies. Additionally, it explores functionality differences between mild and moderate-severe SCFE, case series epidemiology and potential complications.

Implementation of Robotic Exoscope in Minimally Invasive Corpectomy at Thoracolumbar Junction for the Treatment of Traumatic Spinal Cord Compression.

The development and diffusion of minimally invasive (MI) approaches have coincided with improvements in magnification systems. The exoscope will probably open a new era in new technologies in spinal surgery. This study reports a retrospective series of 19 thoracolumbar (T11-L2) burst fractures with anterior column failure and cord compression, treated with MI corpectomy and spinal decompression assisted by a three-dimensional high-definition exoscope (Video 1).

Background: Transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion (TLIF), a commonly used procedure in spine surgery, has the advantage of a lower incidence of nerve lesions compared to the posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) technique. The intersomatic arthrodesis has always been carried out with a single tantalum cage normally used for PLIF. Tantalum is a metal that is particularly used in orthopedic surgery.

Objectives: During the last decades, spine surgery has grown exponentially. In spite of that, it remains a surgical specialty without a well-defined own certification. Revision Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Hamstrings and Extra-articular Tenodesis: A Mid- to Long-Term Clinical and Radiological Study.

Purpose: To present the mid- to long-term clinical and radiographic outcomes of a series of patients who underwent revision anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction with doubled gracilis and semitendinosus (DGST) autograft and a lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LET).

Methods: Patients who underwent revision ACL reconstruction with DGST and LET by a single surgeon between January 1997 and December 2013 were included. Revision was indicated by ACL failure noted on magnetic resonance imaging, persistent clinical instability, or laxity on clinical exam.
