Objective: Attention disorder and substance use disorder are linked to driving impairment and increased road crash involvement. This study explores attention deficits in a population of drivers found driving under the influence (DUI) of psychoactive substances.

Methods: A case-control study was conducted comparing subjects with a previous DUI episode (cases) to subjects who were negative for DUI offenses (controls).

Background: Hereditary Spherocytosis (HS) is a rare, congenital red blood cell disorder presenting with variable clinical manifestations ranging from mild hemolytic anemia to severe anemia with hypersplenism and hepatobiliary complications.

Methods: The objectives of the study were to evaluate the diagnostic pathway of HS, the presence and management of hepatobiliary complications in pediatric patients with HS followed in a tertiary care center. The demographic, clinical, hematological information were retrieved from medical records of patients having at least 1 hematology visit between 2010 and 2020.

The intentional homicide of female victims, which is most commonly perpetrated by intimate partners or family members, has been recognized in recent years as a matter of grave public concern that needs to be addressed from the cultural and judicial perspectives. To allow an in-depth criminological and psychopathological evaluation of female homicide in Italy in 2021 to be conducted, the authors performed a newspaper report analysis of the phenomenon. All female homicides that occurred in Italy in 2021 ( = 119) were included in the study.
