Aims: In VERTIS CV, ertugliflozin was associated with a 30% risk reduction for adjudication-confirmed, first and total hospitalizations for heart failure (HHF) in participants with type 2 diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. We evaluated the impact of ertugliflozin on the broader spectrum of all reported heart failure (HF) events independent of adjudication confirmation.
Methods And Results: Data from participants who received ertugliflozin (5 or 15 mg) were pooled and compared versus placebo.
Recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) represents a complication of pregnancy occurring in 1%-3% of all couples trying to conceive. About 50%-60% of RPL cases remain idiopathic, therefore therapeutic strategies seem empirical and based on unproven evidence. We investigated the efficacy of corticosteroids in women with RPL.

Methods: Patients with type 2 diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular (CV) disease were randomized to ertugliflozin or placebo. These post hoc analyses evaluated cardiometabolic and cardiorenal outcomes (a composite of death from CV causes or hospitalization for heart failure [HHF], CV death, HHF and an exploratory composite kidney outcome including ≥40% estimated glomerular filtration rate [eGFR] decrease) by baseline BMI, using conventional clinical categories and Cox proportional hazards models.
Aims: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure (HF) are prevalent comorbidities associated with significant morbidity/mortality. We assessed prevalence of, patient profiles and outcomes associated with COPD across the ejection fraction (EF) spectrum.
Methods: HF patients enrolled in the Swedish HF registry between 2005 and 2021 were considered.

Background And Aims: Hyperglycaemia during gestational diabetes (GD) predisposes women and their offspring to later cardiometabolic disease. The hyperglycaemia-mediated epigenetic changes remain to be elucidated. Methyltransferase MLL1-induced trimethylation of histone 3 at lysine 4 (H3K4me3) activates inflammatory and oxidative phenotype.

Such conditions, termed pre-diabetes, are characterized by fasting plasma glucose, or plasma glucose levels on an oral glucose tolerance test, or values of glycated haemoglobin intermediate between 'normal' values and those characterizing diabetes. These last are by definition associated, in epidemiological terms, with a higher incidence of microvascular disease-mostly retinopathy.

Materials And Methods: Participants with type 2 diabetes and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease were randomised (1:1:1) to placebo, ertugliflozin 5 mg or ertugliflozin 15 mg. Mean UA over time (260 weeks) was evaluated for pooled ertugliflozin versus placebo overall, and by baseline quintile of UA (≤4.
Port site metastasis (PSM) has been reported as a rare metastasis in women with endometrial carcinoma (EC). However, even more rarely, it has also been described in patients with low- or intermediate-risk EC. Unfortunately, knowledge appears limited on the topic.

Objective: To investigate the safety of sentinel node mapping for patients with early-stage cervical cancer undergoing cervical conization plus nodal evaluation.
Methods: The ETERNITY project is a retrospective, multi-institutional study collecting data of patients with early-stage cervical cancer undergoing fertility-sparing treatment. Here, we compared outcomes related to three methods of nodal assessment: sentinel node mapping (SNM), SNM plus backup lymphadenectomy (SNM + LND); pelvic lymphadenectomy (LND).
The association between type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and heart failure (HF) has been firmly established; however, the entity of diabetic myocardial disorder (previously called diabetic cardiomyopathy) remains a matter of debate. Diabetic myocardial disorder was originally described as the occurrence of myocardial structural/functional abnormalities associated with T2DM in the absence of coronary heart disease, hypertension and/or obesity. However, supporting evidence has been derived from experimental and small clinical studies.

Aims: To assess the use and associations with outcomes of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) in a real-world population with heart failure (HF) and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).
Methods And Results: The Swedish HF Registry was linked with the National Diabetes Registry and other national registries. Independent predictors of GLP-1 RA use were assessed by multivariable logistic regressions and associations with outcomes were assessed by Cox regressions in a 1:1 propensity score-matched cohort.
There is a mounting clinical, psychosocial, and socioeconomic burden worldwide as the prevalence of diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and chronic kidney disease (CKD) continues to rise. Despite the introduction of therapeutic interventions with demonstrated efficacy to prevent the development or progression of these common chronic diseases, many individuals have limited access to these innovations due to their race/ethnicity, and/or socioeconomic status (SES). However, practical guidance to providers and healthcare systems for addressing these disparities is often lacking.

Histone methyltransferases EZH1, EZH2, and demethylases UTX, JMJD3, and UTY catalyse trimethylation of lysine 27 on histone H3 (H3K27me3). This study was designed to investigate whether H3K27me3 triggers hyperglycemia-induced oxidative and inflammatory transcriptional programs in the endothelium.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of concurrent endometrial cancer in patients pre-operatively diagnosed with atypical endometrial hyperplasia undergoing hysterectomy. Additionally, we assessed the occurrence of high to intermediate-risk and high-risk tumors according to the ESGO-ESTRO-ESP classification. The study also compared surgical outcomes and complications between patients undergoing simple hysterectomy and those undergoing hysterectomy with sentinel lymph node biopsy.

During cardiometabolic chronic disease (CMCD), hyperglycaemia and excess adiposity elevate oxidative stress and promote endothelial damage, alongside an imbalance in circulating pro-vascular progenitor cells that mediate vascular repair. Individuals with CMCD demonstrate pro-vascular 'regenerative cell exhaustion' (RCE) characterized by excess pro-inflammatory granulocyte precursor mobilization into the circulation, monocyte polarization towards pro-inflammatory vs.

This study aims to analyze the pattern recurrence of endometrial cancer and the relationship between the initial site of primary disease and the relapse site in patients undergoing surgical treatment.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed all surgically treated patients with endometrial cancer selecting those with recurrence.
