Alongside the ferocious debates in the final months before the 2016 EU Referendum, some Pentecostal Premillennialists throughout Ulster were conducting their own prophetico-politico-religious crusades. Yet unlike the Leave/Remain campaigns, which used apocalyptic language in a metaphorical fashion, these Protestant preachers constructed an 'enchantment tale' aimed at delaying a very real, and catastrophic, 'End.' This paper focuses upon three pastors who used their pulpits to rally support for the Brexit campaign.

A prospective study employing a randomly assigned control group was conducted to assess the usefulness of a chart audit in teaching paediatric residents the components of well child care. The charts of children less than 5 years of age were reviewed and compared with audit criteria. Per cent compliance scores were calculated for five categories: present history; behaviour-development; family history; past medical history; and physical assessment.

There is concern that children with chronic conditions are less likely to be enrolled in managed care systems and that they may not receive optimal care. We studied the relationship between enrollment in an Independent Practice Association (IPA) plan and utilization of ambulatory services among children in a suburban pediatric practice with one mild chronic condition--those receiving hyposensitization therapy for allergic diseases. Ambulatory utilization by IPA patients (N = 102) was determined by medical chart review for one year before and one year after each patient switched from Blue Cross to IPA coverage.

We compared the use of pediatric ambulatory medical care of 640 children who switched from a traditional Blue Cross plan to more comprehensive independent practice association plans with that of matched patients who remained with Blue Cross in one large, suburban pediatric practice in Rochester, NY. A quasi-experimental, retrospective cohort design was used. Use of pediatric ambulatory medical care by patients in the independent practice association plan and control patients was determined by medical chart review for 1 year before and 1 year after each patient's switch.

We prospectively followed a group of unimmunized, immunosuppressed children with cancer to determine their relative risk of influenza and the severity of infection compared with those of siblings or matched community controls. The incidence of influenza infection was higher in children with cancer (23/73, 32%) than in control subjects (10/70, 14%, p = 0.02).

We tested the hypothesis that a deuterium oxide (D2O) tracer could discriminate among patterns of clinically significant, imperfect compliance during drug trials. A model was developed to predict deuterium concentration during multiple dose regimens. After developing a regression equation to predict one of the model parameters for children, we selected healthy children (N = 20) at random to receive one of five 10-day D2O regimens.

The content and emphasis of well-child visits conducted by nine randomly selected pediatricians was compared with those of five experienced pediatric nurse practitioners.
