Background: Quantitative flow ratio (QFR) and FFRangio are angiography-based technologies used to perform functional assessment of coronary lesions from angiographic images, validated across multiple clinical studies. There is limited information on the learning curves associated with each technology.
Aims: This study aims to compare the learning curves of QFR and FFRangio in evaluating coronary stenoses, focusing on changes in analysis speed and accuracy compared to invasive measurements.
In patients with coronary artery disease, the prediction of future cardiac events such as myocardial infarction (MI) remains a major challenge. In this work, we propose a novel anatomy-informed multimodal deep learning framework to predict future MI from clinical data and Invasive Coronary Angiography (ICA) images. The images are analyzed by Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) guided by anatomical information, and the clinical data by an Artificial Neural Network (ANN).

Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the capacity of FFR-CT and CCTA to rule out significant lesions in high-risk NSTE-ACS patients, using ICA with invasive FFR as the gold standard.
Methods: High-risk NSTE-ACS patients admitted to 4 European centres were enrolled in this single-arm, prospective core lab-adjudicated study.
The study investigated gender bias in GPT-4's assessment of coronary artery disease risk by presenting identical clinical vignettes of men and women with and without psychiatric comorbidities. Results suggest that psychiatric conditions may influence GPT-4's coronary artery disease risk assessment among men and women.

Despite the challenges of caring for a child with POLR3-related leukodystrophy, few studies have examined parents' disease burden. We sought to investigate quality of life and stress levels amongst parents of children with POLR3-related leukodystrophy.

This has important implications for the accuracy of downstream 3D coronary reconstructions and computed haemodynamic indices (e.g.

It was found that these nucleophiles were strongly ligated to the zinc(II) azolium-porphyrin complexes. Thus a demetalation/remetalation procedure was performed to recover the non-azole-coordinated zinc(II) complexes.

We investigated the extent of cardiovascular risk factor management in males and females with and without familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) 5 years after ACS.
Methods: We studied patients hospitalized for ACS between 2009 and 2017 in a Swiss multicenter prospective cohort study.
Among patients with suspected severe aortic stenosis (AS), discordance between effective orifice area (EOA) and transvalvular gradients is frequent and requires a multiparametric workup including flow assessment and calcium-scoring to confirm true severe AS. The aim of this study was to assess direct planimetry, energy loss index (Eli) and dimensionless index (DI) as stand-alone parameters to identify non-severe AS in discordant cases. In this prospective cohort study, we included consecutive AS patients > 70 years with EOA < 1.

We aimed to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and clinical outcomes associated with TCv-TAVR.
Methods: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted by searching PubMed/Medline, Embase, and the Cochrane Library for all articles assessing the TCv approach published through December 2023.
To study the validation process for sea surface salinity (SSS) we have generated one year (November 2011- October 2012) of simulated satellite and in situ "ground truth" data. This was done using the ECCO (Estimating the Circulation and Climate of the Oceans) 1/48° simulation, the highest resolution global ocean model currently available. The ground tracks of three satellites, Aquarius, SMAP (Soil Moisture Active Passive) and SMOS (Soil Moisture and Ocean Salinity) were extracted and used to sample the model with a gaussian weighting similar to that of the spaceborne sensor ground footprint.

Pathophysiologic coronary artery disease patterns can be quantified using fractional flow reserve (FFR) pullbacks incorporating the pullback pressure gradient (PPG) calculation. This study aimed to establish the capacity of PPG to predict optimal revascularization and procedural outcomes.

Despite a recent focus on longitudinal research, priority-setting initiatives with stakeholders highlighted the importance of studying a child's day-to-day functioning and social determinants of health to inform clinical care. To address this, we are conducting a pragmatic multi-site, patient-oriented longitudinal investigation: the (.

Aims: This study aimed to explore the ability of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly large language models (LLMs), to improve clinical decision-making and enhance the efficiency of HTs.
Background: The transcarotid (TC) vascular access for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has emerged as the first-choice alternative to the transfemoral access, in patients unsuitable for the latter. The use of both the left and right common carotid arteries (CCAs) for TC-TAVI has been described, but the optimal side is subject to debate. We conducted this pilot study to compare the level of vessel tortuosity and plaque burden from either the left CCA to the aortic annulus, or the right CCA to the aortic annulus, considering them as surrogates for technical and procedural complexity.

However, less is known about the effects of this approach on health-related quality of life (HRQoL), particularly for women.
Objective: We examined the effects of a patient-centered appointment-based CR program on HRQoL by sex and examined predictors of HRQoL improvements specifically for women.
This study focuses on identifying anatomical markers with predictive capacity for long-term myocardial infarction (MI) in focal coronary artery disease (CAD). Eighty future culprit lesions (FCL) and 108 non-culprit lesions (NCL) from 80 patients underwent 3D quantitative coronary angiography. The minimum lumen area (MLA), minimum lumen ratio (MLR), and vessel fractional flow reserve (vFFR) were evaluated.

The small size of these particles enables their suspension in the air, making pulmonary exposure inevitable. Previous work has demonstrated that xenobiotic pulmonary exposure to nanoparticles during gestation leads to maternal vascular impairments, as well as cardiovascular dysfunction within the fetus.
