Introduction: Although the Government of Nepal has developed strategies to integrate contraceptive services with abortion care to better meet the contraceptive needs of women, data indicate that significant gaps in services remain. This paper assessed post-abortion contraceptive use, trends over 36 -months, and factors influencing usage.
Methods: Data from this paper came from an ongoing cohort study of 1831 women who sought an abortion from one of the sampled 22 government-approved health facilities across Nepal.
Background: First-contact physiotherapists assess and diagnose patients with musculoskeletal disorders, determining the best course of management without prior general practitioner consultation.
Objectives: The primary aim was to determine the clinical and cost-effectiveness of first-contact physiotherapists compared with general practitioner-led models of care.
Design: Mixed-method realist evaluation of effectiveness and costs, comprising three main phases: A United Kingdom-wide survey of first contact physiotherapists.
RNA interference is a natural antiviral mechanism that could be harnessed to combat SARS-CoV-2 infection by targeting and destroying the viral RNA. We identified potent lipophilic small interfering RNA (siRNA) conjugates targeting highly conserved regions of SARS-CoV-2 outside of the spike-encoding region capable of achieving ≥3-log viral reduction. Serial passaging studies demonstrated that a two-siRNA combination prevented development of resistance compared to a single siRNA approach.

Fire exclusion over the last two centuries has driven a significant fire deficit in the forests of western North America, leading to widespread changes in the composition and structure of these historically fire-adapted ecosystems. Fuel treatments have been increasingly applied over the last few decades to mitigate fire hazard, yet it is unclear whether these fuel-focused treatments restore the fire-adapted conditions and species that will allow forests to persist into the future. A vital prerequisite of restoring fire-adaptedness is ongoing establishment of fire-tolerant tree species, and both the type and reoccurrence of fuel treatments are likely to strongly influence stand trajectories.

Background: Antipsychotic medications (AP) are inappropriately prescribed to young people. The goal of this pragmatic trial was to test a four-component approach to improved targeting of antipsychotic prescribing to people aged ≥3 and <18 years.
Methods: Clinicians in four health systems were cluster randomized by the number of previous AP orders and service line - specialty mental health and all others.
Parasitic infections in dairy cattle reduce herd immunity, milk production, and conception rates. This leads to higher production costs, compromised animal welfare, and increased interest in extralabel drug use. The extralabel use of anthelmintics poses food safety risks for consumers since appropriate withdrawal intervals in milk have yet to be established.

We hypothesized that the portal vein catheterization would be a successful continuous sampling technique with minimal adverse effects in steers.
Methods: 2 groups of steers were used: a pilot group (n = 2) and experimental group (n = 6).

The Attitudes and Decisions After Pregnancy Testing (ADAPT) study investigates the consequences for individuals unable to attain their pregnancy and childbearing preferences using an innovative nested prospective cohort design and novel conceptualisation and measurement of pregnancy preferences.
Participants: This paper describes the characteristics of the ADAPT Study Cohort, comprised of 2015 individuals aged 15-34 years, assigned female at birth, recruited between 2019 and 2022 from 23 health facilities in the southwestern USA.
Vasoconstriction of peripheral blood vessels is one of the hallmark symptoms of fescue toxicosis in cattle. Thus, it was hypothesized that exposure to ergot alkaloids would increase the pulmonary arterial pressure (PAP). Background: Pharmacological activity of intramammary drugs depends on adequate drug concentrations within the cistern, but sampling is often limited. Insight into the active drug concentration within the mammary cistern may assist in determining effective and appropriate therapeutic decisions for cows being treated for mastitis.

Background: Heterotopic splenic tissue can occur following splenectomy and is typically asymptomatic, often discovered incidentally during imaging for other conditions. This benign condition may mimic malignant processes, posing diagnostic challenges especially in patients with a history of cancer or concurrent malignancy.
Case Description: We report the case of a 60-year-old male with a history of well-controlled hypertension and a splenectomy following a traumatic injury at age 7.
Background: Many individuals worldwide continue to take benzodiazepine receptor agonists (BZRAs) long term (≥3 months). The aim of this study was to conduct a content analysis of the views and experiences of discontinuing long-term BZRA use as documented in the free-text responses of respondents to an online questionnaire examining mediators of behaviour change relating to the discontinuation of long-term BZRA use.
Design: The questionnaire was disseminated via online BZRA support groups to community-based adults with either current or previous experience of long-term BZRA use.
