Background: Validated instruments measuring the quality of mental healthcare from patients' perspectives are scarce, and available instruments have been requested. One of the few instruments measuring the quality of care from a patient's perspective is the Swedish Quality in Psychiatric Care-In-Patient (QPC-IP). This cross-sectional study aimed to translate and adapt the QPC-IP instrument for a Norwegian context and assess its psychometric properties.

Cross-Cultural Comparison of the Strengths and Difficulties Self-Report Questionnaire in 12 Asian and European Countries.

Objective: The self-report Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) is widely used globally; hence, the validity of the intergroup comparisons is essential. This study examined the structure of the self-report SDQ in a large multinational adolescent sample, tested its measurement invariance across genders and countries, and compared youth mental health in 12 European and Asian countries.

Method: This study is part of the Eurasian Child Mental Health Study (EACMHS), a cross-cultural research study of child and adolescent well-being and mental health in 12 Asian and European countries.

Investigating the Associations between Patient-Reported Quality of Care and Perceived Coercion: A Norwegian Cross-Sectional Study.

Patient perspectives on the quality of care received are fundamental to mental health care. This study aimed to investigate the association between patient-reported mental health care quality, perceived coercion, and various demographic, clinical, and ward-related factors. Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 169 patients in Norwegian mental health wards using the quality in psychiatric care-inpatient (QPC-IP) instrument and experienced coercion scale (ECS).

Challenges in Pediatric Diabetes Classification: A Case Report.

Type 2 diabetes (T2DM) incidence and prevalence are increasing in pediatrics. All children aged > 10 years or postpubertal should be screened in primary care for T2DM if they are overweight with one risk factor or have signs of insulin resistance or associated conditions. Classifying pediatric diabetes is challenging.

Development and Initial Validation of the Transportation Support Scale.

Importance: Driving cessation affects older drivers and, possibly, also care partners (most of whom tend to be women). Although tools exist to assess the effects on family and friends of providing informal care to someone who needs assistance, no tool is available to clinicians that specifically focuses on the effects of driving cessation.

Objective: To develop the Transportation Support Scale (TSS) to measure care partners' responses-both negative and positive-to driving cessation and assuming transportation responsibilities.

The impact of case factors on the initial screening decision in child welfare investigations in Norway.

Background: When a child welfare service agency receives a report of concern, there is an initial screening to decide whether an investigation needs to be initiated. In addition to the decision maker, case factors, external factors, and organizational factors have an impact on decision making in Child Welfare Services (CWS). Few recent studies have considered the impact of case factors on the initial screening.

Human macrophage C-type lectin forms a heteromeric receptor complex with Mincle but not Dectin-2.

MCL, Mincle and Dectin-2 are C-type lectin receptors expressed by subsets of myeloid cells, and their genes cluster together in the APLEC/Dectin-2 gene complex. We have previously shown that MCL and Mincle form a heterodimer in the rat, and others have shown that MCL and Dectin-2 form a heterodimer in the mouse. In the rat, Dectin-2 is a pseudogene, but here, we examine the association of the three receptors in human.

Victimization by traditional bullying and cyberbullying and the combination of these among adolescents in 13 European and Asian countries.

There has been a lack of studies on bullying in non-western low-income and middle-income countries. This study reported the prevalence of traditional victimization, cybervictimization, and the combination of these, in 13 European and Asian countries, and explored how psychiatric symptoms were associated with victimization. The data for this cross-sectional, school-based study of 21,688 adolescents aged 13-15 were collected from 2011 to 2017.

Help-seeking behavior in Norwegian adolescents: the role of bullying and cyberbullying victimization in a cross-sectional study.

Background: Help-seeking is considered a constructive coping style. However, the threshold at which many adolescents seek help is relatively high, and the outcomes are not necessarily always positive.

Cyberbullying status and mental health in Norwegian adolescents.

The aim of the present study was to examine how the cyberbullying status (not involved, cyber-victim only, cyberbully only, cyber-victim and bully) is related to the mental health of the adolescents when controlled for traditional bullying experience. We also examined the potential moderator sex on the relationship between cyberbullying status and mental health. Univariate analyses of variance were conducted to predict mental health problems using the Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire total difficulties score and its five scales.

Does the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management programme improve child-teacher relationships in childcare centres? A 1-year universal intervention in a Norwegian community sample.

The Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management (IY TCM) programme has shown promise in reducing behaviour problems among high-risk children in childcare. However, at present, we do not know whether the IY TCM successfully improves the child-teacher relationship in childcare and whether the effects manifest in both the population and in high-risk groups. Hence, we conducted a quasi-experimental pre-post study with a matched control condition to examine the changes in child-teacher relationships in a sample of 1085 children aged 3-6 years after implementing the IY TCM programme.

Long-term cardiovascular morbidity following hyperemesis gravidarum: A Norwegian nationwide cohort study.

Objective: To investigate whether exposure to hyperemesis gravidarum (hyperemesis) is associated with subsequent maternal cardiovascular morbidity.

Dendritic Cell Activating Receptor 1 (DCAR1) Associates With FcεRIγ and Is Expressed by Myeloid Cell Subsets in the Rat.

Dendritic cell activating receptor-1 (DCAR1) is a cell-surface receptor encoded by the Antigen Presenting Lectin-like gene Complex (APLEC). We generated a mouse monoclonal antibody against rat DCAR1, and used this to characterize receptor expression and function. Rat DCAR1 was expressed on minor subsets of myeloid cells in lymphoid tissue, but was uniformly expressed at a high level by eosinophils, and at a low level by neutrophils.

Cardiovascular risk profile at the age of 40-45 in women with previous hyperemesis gravidarum or hypertensive disorders in pregnancy: A population-based study.

Objective: To assess midlife cardiovascular risk profiles in women with a history of hyperemesis or hypertensive disorders in pregnancy compared to women with none of the studied pregnancy complications.

Study Design: Population-based study. Cardiovascular risk factors at the age of 40-45 among women with previous singleton births only were studied through linkage of the Norwegian Birth Registry and a Norwegian screening program (the Age 40 Program).

Parental and child factors associated with participation in a randomised control trial of an Internet-assisted parent training programme.

Background: Parental training is an effective way to treat and prevent children's conduct problems, but knowledge of who participates in such initiatives is limited.

Method: This study examined child and family factors associated with participation in an Internet-assisted parent training programme. The parents of 4-year-old children with high levels of disruptive behaviour in a region of Finland were offered the opportunity to participate in a randomised controlled trial of the Strongest Families Smart Website intervention (SFSW).

A transcription factor network represses gene expression in airway epithelial cells.

Mutations in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator () gene cause the inherited disorder cystic fibrosis (CF). Lung disease is the major cause of CF morbidity, though expression levels are substantially lower in the airway epithelium than in pancreatic duct and intestinal epithelia, which also show compromised function in CF. Recently developed small molecule therapeutics for CF are highly successful for one specific mutation and have a positive impact on others.

Does parental mental health moderate the effect of a telephone and internet-assisted remote parent training for disruptive 4-year-old children?

This study explores the moderators affecting the success of an Internet-based and telephone assisted remote parent training intervention and compares them to an educational control group. We prospectively identified 464 parents who reported at a health check that their 4-year-old children showed elevated levels of externalizing behavior. The moderators explored included parental attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and parental distress.

The functions of activating members of the killer cell Ig-like receptor (KIR) family are not fully understood, as the ligands for these receptors are largely unidentified. In this study, we report that KIR2DS2 reporter cells recognize a ligand expressed by cancer cell lines. All cancer targets recognized by KIR2DS2 were also recognized by KIR2DL2 and KIR2DL3 reporters.
