We present an open access dataset for development, evaluation, and comparison of algorithms for individual tree detection in dense mixed forests. The dataset consists of a detailed field inventory and overlapping UAV LiDAR and RGB orthophoto, which make it possible to develop algorithms that fuse multimodal data to improve detection results. Along with the dataset, we describe and implement a basic local maxima filtering baseline and an algorithm for automatically matching detection results to the ground truth trees for detection algorithm evaluation.

The response of the meta-metabolome is rarely used to characterize the effects of contaminants on a whole community. Here, the meta-metabolomic fingerprints of biofilms were examined after 1, 3 and 7 days of exposure to five concentrations of cobalt (from background concentration to 1 × 10 M) in aquatic microcosms. Untargeted metabolomics is a non-a priori analysis of biomolecules that characterizes the metabolome variations induced by short- and long-term exposures to stressors. Even if the metabolite annotation remains lacunar due to database gaps, the global metabolomic fingerprint allows for trend analyses of dose-response curves for hundreds of cellular metabolites. Analysis of dose/time-response curve trends (biphasic or monotonic) of untargeted metabolomic features would thus allow the use of all the chemical signals obtained in order to determine stress levels (defense or damage) in organisms.

Purpose: The Wheelchair Skills Training Program (WSTP) is underutilized in pediatrics for training manual wheelchair skills because the voluminous manual lacks pediatric specificity and no materials adapted for pediatric manual wheelchair users (PMWUs) are available. A set of resources (storybook, posters, training workbook) based on the WSTP has previously been developed for training basic indoor wheelchair skills with five to 15-year-old PMWUs. Interleukin 32 (IL-32) is a potent multi-isoform proinflammatory cytokine, which is upregulated in people with HIV (PWH) and is associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. However, the impact of IL-32 isoforms on CD4 T-cell cardiotropism, a mechanism potentially contributing to heart inflammation, remains unknown. Here we show that IL-32 isoforms β and γ induce the generation of CCR4+CXCR3+ double positive (DP) memory CD4 T-cell subpopulation expressing the tyrosine kinase receptor c-Met, a phenotype associated with heart-homing of T cells.

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis and its treatments can severely impact health-related quality of life. The Italian Spine Youth Quality of Life (ISYQOL) questionnaire, initially developed in Italian and tested on Italian people, was created to measure quality of life in young persons with spine changes. ISYQOL was created using the Rasch analysis, a modern psychometric technique for questionnaires' assessment and development, which showed that the ordinal scores of the ISYQOL Italian version provide sound quality of life measures.

The population of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (SLSJ) region, located in the province of Quebec, Canada, is recognized as a founder population, where some rare autosomal recessive diseases show a high prevalence. Through the clinical and molecular study of 82 affected individuals from 60 families, this study outlines 12 diseases identified as recurrent in SLSJ. Their carrier frequency was estimated with the contribution of 1059 healthy individuals, increasing the number of autosomal recessive diseases with known carrier frequency in this region from 14 to 25.
