In recent decades, intradetrusor injections of botulinum toxin A (BoNT-A) have been widely applied to treat incontinence in both idiopathic overactive bladder (iOAB) and neurogenic detrusor overactivity incontinence (NDOI). This analysis, based on the French National Hospital Discharge Database (PMSI), aims to describe real-world trends in intradetrusor BoNT-A use between 2014 and 2022. Among 32,864 patients who received at least one intradetrusor BoNT-A injection, 18,320 (55.

Background: Current guidelines recommend intramuscular botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) injection as first-line treatment for spasticity, a frequent and impairing feature of various central nervous system (CNS) lesions such as stroke. Patients with spasticity commonly require BoNT-A injections once every 3 to 4 months. We conducted a nationwide, population-based, retrospective cohort study, using the French National Hospital Discharge Database (PMSI), to describe BoNT-A use for spasticity in clinical practice in France between 2014 and 2020.

There are limited real-world data on the use of botulinum toxin type A (BoNT-A) in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Accordingly, this nationwide, population-based, retrospective cohort study aimed to describe BoNT-A treatment trends in patients with MS between 2014 and 2020 in France. This study extracted data from the French National Hospital Discharge Database (, PMSI) covering the entire French population.

Objective: Among specific autoantibodies in DM, the anti-small ubiquitin-like modifier activating enzyme (SAE) antibody is rare. We aim to describe the clinical characteristics, cancer prevalence, and muscle pathology of anti-SAE-positive DM.

Methods: Patients with a diagnosis of DM and sera positive for the anti-SAE antibody were recruited from 19 centres in this retrospective observational study.

Disabling limb spasticity can result from stroke, traumatic brain injury or other disorders causing upper motor neuron lesions such as multiple sclerosis. Clinical studies have shown that abobotulinumtoxinA (AboBoNT-A) therapy reduces upper and lower limb spasticity in adults. However, physicians may administer potentially inadequate doses, given the lack of consensus on adjusting dose according to muscle volume, the wide dose ranges in the summary of product characteristics or cited in the published literature, and/or the high quantity of toxin available for injection.

Acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL) are the most frequent cancer in children and derive most often from B-cell precursors. Current survival rates roughly reach 90% at 10 years from diagnosis. However, 15-20% of children still relapse with a significant risk of death.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are an increasing proportion of oncology therapies. The oncologist is faced with the managing immune-mediated adverse effects (irAEs), which are sometimes complex, the introduction of ICIs in patients with history of autoimmune diseases, and rechallenging after toxicity. This multidisciplinary care is still uneven.

Background: A high level of occupational noise exposure has been noted in the fishing sector. Yet, less is known regarding other navigation groups, such as merchant seafarers, since a French study in the 1980s. This study assesses hearing impairment (HI) in a French merchant seafarers’ population.

Background: Cancer-associated thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) is a rare disease, with a poor prognosis. The classical treatment is urgent chemotherapy. Few data are available on the efficacy of plasma exchange (PE) and eculizumab in these patients.

Current treatments for trauma-related disorders remain ineffective for many patients. Fear extinction deficiency is a prominent feature of these diseases, and many behavioral treatments rely on extinction training. However, in many patients, therapy is followed by a relapse of symptoms, and the underpinnings of such interindividual variations in vulnerability to relapse remain unknown.

Paraneoplastic neurological syndrome (PNS) is uncommon and not well known. PNS can reveal cancer, but its role in seminomas has not been described explicitly. We report the case of a 36-year-old man with unremarkable medical history and no comorbidities who was diagnosed with a retroperitoneal metastatic seminoma.

Objectives: Cancer patients with pre-existing autoimmune disease, such as systemic sclerosis (SSc), are excluded from clinical trials, so the data on tolerability and efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors in these patients are limited. This study investigated the tolerability and efficacy of anti-programmed death ligand 1 (PD (L)1) immunotherapies in patients with pre-existing SSc.

Methods: Scleronco-01 was a multicentre, nationwide, open-label, phase IV observational study, from 2019 to 2021.

A better understanding of immune-related adverse events is essential for the early detection and appropriate management of these phenomena. We conducted an observational study of cases recorded at the French reference center for hypereosinophilic syndromes and in the French national pharmacovigilance database. Thirty-seven reports of eosinophilia induced by treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) were included.

Objective: The aims of our study were to describe the evolution of interstitial lung disease (ILD) extent on HRCT scan in systemic sclerosis (SSc), to identify baseline prognostic factors associated with ILD evolution and to assess whether the evolution of pulmonary function tests (PFTs) correlated with this evolution.

Methods: 58 SSc with ILD (SSc-ILD) patients were included. All HRCT scans and PFTs available were collected.

Antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) represent a new and highly promising class of drugs for personalized medicine. In the last decade, major chemical developments and improvements of the backbone structure of ASOs have transformed them into true approved and commercialized drugs. ASOs target both DNA and RNA, including pre-mRNA, mRNA, and ncRDA, based on sequence complementary.

Background: Paraneoplastic syndromes (PNS) are autoimmune disorders specifically associated with cancer. There are few data on anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy in patients with a PNS. Our objective was to describe the outcome for patients with a pre-existing or newly diagnosed PNS following the initiation of anti-PD-1 or anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy.

Introduction: Male adolescents' mental health has been understudied compared to their female counterparts and is not well known among health professionals. This is particularly problematic in emergencies because the number of such patients is increasing.

Objectives: To identify the type of demand for care and the characteristics of male adolescents' emergency room visits.

Purpose: Patients with primary immunodeficiency (PID) are at risk of serious complications. However, data on the incidence and causes of emergency hospital admissions are scarce. The primary objective of the present study was to describe emergency hospital admissions among patients with PID, with a view to identifying "at-risk" patient profiles.

Patients with HHV-8-negative/idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) experience systemic inflammatory symptoms and polyclonal lymphoproliferation due to an unknown etiology. Schnitzler's syndrome (SS) is characterized by recurrent urticarial rash, monoclonal IgM gammopathy, and other clinical signs of inflammation. To our knowledge, we report the first case of iMCD associated with SS and the fourth case of anakinra inducing a complete response for an iMCD patient.
