Insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 7 (IGFBP7) is a secreted protein and its expression was restrained in varied solid tumours, but there was no report about biological role of IGFBP7 in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). Here, we found that high expression of IGFBP7 correlated to a better overall survival in CCA patients. To investigate the hypothetic antineoplastic activity of IGFBP7 in CCA, we induced overexpression of IGFBP7 in QBC939 and RBE cells, as well as knockdown in HCCC9810 cells.

In the present follow-up study, the signal quality of Emotiv headset was tested by the accuracy rate of discriminating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) patients from the normal subjects. ERPs of 22 MDD patients and 15 normal subjects were induced by an auditory oddball task and the amplitude of N1, N2 and P3 of ERP components were specifically analyzed.

The endocannabinoid N-arachidonoyl ethanolamine (anandamide), found both in the CNS and in the periphery, plays a role in numerous physiological systems. One might expect that the chemically related N-arachidonoyl-L-serine (ARA-S) could also be formed alongside anandamide. We examined the actions of abn-cbd on the electrophysiology of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC), using the whole cell version of the patch clamp technique. Voltage steps produced noninactivating outward currents, which were abolished by iberiotoxin or by chelation of intracellular calcium.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe cannabinoid analog abnormal cannabidiol [abn-cbd; (-)-4-(3-3,4-trans-p-menthadien-[1,8]-yl)-olivetol] does not bind to CB(1) or CB(2) receptors, yet it acts as a full agonist in relaxing rat isolated mesenteric artery segments. Vasorelaxation by abn-cbd is endothelium-dependent, pertussis toxin-sensitive, and is inhibited by the BK(Ca) channel inhibitor charybdotoxin, but not by the nitric-oxide synthase inhibitor N(omega)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester or by the vanilloid VR1 receptor antagonist capsazepine. The cannabidiol analog O-1918 does not bind to CB(1) or CB(2) receptors and does not cause vasorelaxation at concentrations up to 30 microM, but it does cause concentration-dependent (1-30 microM) inhibition of the vasorelaxant effects of abn-cbd and anandamide.
