Pregorexia refers to an eating disorder observed in pregnant women characterized by the adoption of extreme dieting and workout regime during pregnancy meant to ward off weight gain and keep body shape under control. Psychological factors such as a distortion of how one perceives their own body, concerns about visible signs of pregnancy, and fear of gaining weight have been identified as some of the underlying causes of pregorexia. This condition may have detrimental effects, such as stunted fetal growth, spontaneous miscarriage, and development of anemia by the pregnant woman.

The atypical course of pneumonias (without significant intoxication and bronchopulmonary syndromes) is now notified and the incidence of nonspecific changes in the lower lung has increased. The authors propose to use a modified segmental tuberculin test in the differential diagnosis of community-acquired pneumonia and pulmonary tuberculosis. This test has revealed that in community-acquired pneumonia, the average sizes of papules do not differ in the bilateral suprascapular regions and they are significantly less than on the fore-arm when the Mantoux test with 2TE whereas in infiltrative pulmonary tuberculosis, the largest papules are recorded above a specific inflammatory focus and their size is larger than that on the intact side and forearm.

Long-term results of treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in those miners (n-169) working in coal mines of the Luhansk Oblast were studied together with results of their medical and work rehabilitation. The study made showed a low efficacy of treatment in the remote period, with cure having been achieved in 36.8 percent of cases, progression of the process recordable in ten percent of them.

Radical improvements in the physiological features and self-sufficiency of hemodialysis equipment, an essential reduction of the volume of dialyzate contacting with patient's body and elimination of dependence of the equipment operation on the availability of a water-supply network can be ensured by applying a regime of circulation of a relatively small volume (3-5 l) of dialyzate through the regenerating device. The regeneration unit must eliminate the organic products of dialysis from the dialyzate and stabilize the ionic composition of the purified dialyzate according to the preset parameters. Modern methods and technical means for regenerating the used dialyzate are discussed; a regeneration unit, which ensures an electrochemical oxidation (in the used dialyzate) of nitrogen-containing organic metabolites with a subsequent sorption-type additional purification of electrochemically-processed dialyzate, is offered.

The influence of Chernobyl NPP outburst on cattle from farms in Russia and Belorussia was examined since 1988 to 1996. Changes in the level of thyroid hormones and imbalance in cAMP/cGMP ratio with increased cAMP concentration in blood were found. The content of cAMP and E, F2a prostaglandins was varied because of the disturbances in the rate of their metabolism.
