This case report presents a late preterm infant diagnosed with severe cerebellar hypoplasia and microcephaly secondary to congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) infection. Initially suspected to have Dandy-Walker malformation, postnatal MRI revealed significant cerebellar hypoplasia, without other typical cCMV findings. The diagnosis was confirmed by the presence of CMV in serum and urine.

Retrospective 3-year assessment (August 2019 to June 2022) of hepatic events from the TURALIO® (pexidartinib) Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy Program. A total of 451 patients, 369 prescribers, 2 wholesalers/distributors and 2 pharmacies were enrolled and certified.

Pexidartinib is the only US FDA-approved treatment for TGCT associated with severe morbidity or functional limitations and not amenable to improvement with surgery. To characterize drug utilization and treatment patterns in TGCT patients.

A retrospective cohort study, using the IQVIA PharMetrics Plus claims database from 1 April 2011 to 30 November 2021, identified PTCL patients receiving systemic treatments. Three mutually exclusive subcohorts were created based on line of therapy (LOT): 1LOT, 2LOT and ≥3LOT.

To evaluate patient characteristics, treatment patterns and outcomes of elderly patients with AML who are treated with supportive care only. A retrospective analysis of elderly AML patients included in the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results-Medicare database from 2008 to 2015.

Addressing the barriers for resident physicians to initiate EOL conversations with patients is an important step towards eliminating the disconnect between patient wishes and provider goals. To assess resident physician perspectives on initiating palliative care conversations with terminally ill patients at an urban teaching hospital.

Objective: This study aimed to determine if early preterm delivery results in an increase in maternal morbidity.
Study Design: This is a retrospective cohort study conducted at a tertiary care center over a 5-year time period.
Stress is defined as any deviation from an organism's baseline physiological levels. Therefore, introduction of new stimuli and information, such as in learning, can be defined as a stressor. A large body of research exists examining the role that stress plays in learning, but virtually none addresses whether or not learning itself is a measurable cause of stress.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study of women and their preterm neonates delivered at a single tertiary care center over a 5-year period. Women and neonates were included if they delivered between 23 weeks 0 days and 28 weeks 6 days of gestation and neonates were admitted to the NICU.
Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) lines are an essential tool in the management of premature neonates. Pleural effusion (PLE) secondary to the leakage of alimentation into the pleural cavity is an encountered complication of central-line total parenteral nutrition (TPN) administration. We review a case of a premature neonate who suffered large, bilateral PLE after insertion of an upper extremity PICC line for TPN.

Study Design: Prospective evaluation of CCHD screening at multiple time intervals was conducted in 21 NICUs across five states (n=4556 infants).
Results: Of the 4120 infants with complete screens, 92% did not have prenatal CHD diagnosis or echocardiography before screening, 72% were not receiving oxygen at 24 to 48 h and 56% were born ⩾2500 g.
Objectives: The objective of this study was to determine the attitudes of a variety of health care providers toward the recommendations that should be made to parents regarding the resuscitation of infants who are born at the margins of viability.
Methods: A written questionnaire was distributed to the medical and nursing staff at 4 tertiary perinatal centers. For each of 5 weekly gestational age intervals from 22 weeks to 26 weeks, 6 days, the health care providers were asked to describe on a scale from 1 to 5 whether they would strongly discourage through strongly encourage resuscitation.
Objective: The obstetric and neonatal exploratory focus group of the Vermont Oxford Network Neonatal Intensive Care Quality Improvement Collaborative 2002 set out to improve collaboration, communication, and coordination between maternal and neonatal caregivers in 3 areas: the pregnancy at 22 to 26 weeks, measurement of maternal outcomes that are linked with neonatal outcomes, and team performance during high-risk delivery. Antepartum and intrapartum maternal attributes and interventions also were considered important measurements to identify practice variations and their relationship to neonatal outcomes for ongoing obstetric and neonatal collaboration.
Methods: Potentially better practices were developed on the basis of evidence in the literature, expert opinion, and internal analysis at the participating perinatal centers.
Objective: The Vermont Oxford Network (VON) CARE Group was formed in response to the need to create organizational cultures supportive of change and quality improvement.
Methods: The CARE Group consisted of team members from 4 participating neonatal intensive care units (NICUs). All CARE Group members chose to work on multidisciplinary teamwork for the duration of the Neonatal Intensive Care Quality Improvement Collaborative Year 2000.
Congenital nephrotic syndrome, a rare form of nephrosis, presents during the first year of life. We describe the case of a patient seen on the fifth day of life with seizures, hypocalcemia, hypothyroidism, and cerebral deep venous thromboses. Whereas these are generally long-term complications of this disorder, they may also be the presenting features in the neonatal period.
