Patients And Methods: Between December 1993 and October 1995, 43 untreated patients with stages IIB to IVA squamous cell cervical cancer were entered onto this study. Forty-two patients are assessable for response and 43 for toxicity.

Between October 1986 and August 1988, 33 previously untreated patients with locally advanced cervical carcinoma were studied to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of a neoadjuvant chemotherapy combination consisting of cisplatin 50 mg/m2 intravenously (IV) on day 1, vincristine 1.4 mg/m2 IV on day 1, and bleomycin 25 mg/m2 IV in a 6-hour infusion on days 1-3. Cycles were repeated every 10 days for a total of three cycles, after which definitive radiation therapy (external and intracavitary) was administered.
