Introduction: (Lauraceae) is a pantropical genus of about 287 species, distributed in tropical Asia and Africa used in traditional medicines to cure many diseases. This study aimed to explore biological properties of () on the prevention and management of metabolic syndrome (MetS) features induced by High Fat/High Sucrose (HF/HS) diet in rats as therapeutic option.

Methods: MetS was induced after administration of HF/HS diet followed by administration of powder at 5% or 10% for 21 days, while the control group received a chow diet and distilled water and the positive control group received the HF/HS diet and distilled water.
