Aims: Dapagliflozin has been widely used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and heart failure (HF). However, data concerning the association between dapagliflozin and the recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF), especially in patients following Cox-Maze IV (CMIV), are rare. We aim to explore the effect of dapagliflozin on the recurrence of AF after CMIV with and without T2DM or HF.

Early surgery can improve the outcomes of patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation undergoing tricuspid replacement.

Background: Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) usually remains asymptomatic for a long time, such that it is most often diagnosed at an advanced stage of right heart failure. The purpose of this study was to identify clinical characteristics and overall outcomes in patients with severe TR who received tricuspid valve replacement (TVR) at different clinical stages.

Methods: Between 1993 and 2018, 256 severe TR patients who received TVR alone or in combination with other procedures were assessed at Beijing Anzhen Hospital.
