Objective: To systematically evaluate inpatient interventions to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress in pregnant individuals during antepartum hospitalization.
Data Sources: Searches were conducted in Ovid MEDLINE, Embase, CINAHL Plus, Cochrane CENTRAL, and PsycINFO from database inception through April 2023.
Study Eligibility Criteria: Randomized controlled trials and cohort studies were eligible for inclusion if an intervention was compared to treatment as usual (TAU) to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, or stress among pregnant individuals admitted to a hospital's antepartum unit.
Objective: To develop age-appropriate nonaGEnaRIan And cenTenarian suRgICal (GERIATRIC) risk tool for classifying patients who may or may not develop postoperative complications or die within their index hospital admission.
Background: There are no validated perioperative risk stratification tools for use in nonagenarian and centenarian patients-people aged 90 to 99 years and >100 years.
Methods: In this retrospective observational study, nonagenarians and centenarians undergoing any surgical procedure were profiled.
The Europa Imaging System (EIS) consists of a Narrow-Angle Camera (NAC) and a Wide-Angle Camera (WAC) that are designed to work together to address high-priority science objectives regarding Europa's geology, composition, and the nature of its ice shell. EIS accommodates variable geometry and illumination during rapid, low-altitude flybys with both framing and pushbroom imaging capability using rapid-readout, 8-megapixel (4k × 2k) detectors. Color observations are acquired using pushbroom imaging with up to six broadband filters.

The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to describe clinical prognostic scores and models for pediatric sepsis outcomes and assess the performance of these scores for predicting mortality in LMICs.
Methods: Ovid Medline, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, EBSCO Global Health, and Web of Science, were searched through September 2022 for citations related to the development or validation of a clinical prognostic score or model among children with sepsis, conducted in LMIC.
There is ample evidence that individual-level cognitive mechanisms active during language learning and use can contribute to the evolution of language. For example, experimental work suggests that learners will reduce case marking in a language where grammatical roles are reliably indicated by fixed word order, a correlation found robustly in the languages of the world. However, such research often assumes homogeneity among language learners and users, or at least does not dig into individual differences in behavior.

Yet these standardized measurements often do not capture the realistic demographic and environmental variation that is common in natural settings. Rather, individuals included in these studies are often non-reproducing, uninjured, resting adults that have not recently eaten-far from a representative sample.

We measured the responses of leaf hydraulic and stomatal conductances (K and g, respectively) to dehydration, and their association with anatomy, in seven species of California Ceanothus grown in a common garden, including some of the most drought-tolerant species in the semi-arid flora. We tested for matching of maximum hydraulic supply and demand and quantified the role of decline of K in driving stomatal closure.

Objective: To investigate the completeness, utility and efficacy of difficult airway alerts and their impact on future airway management episodes.
Design, Data Sources And Methods: Patients who had a "difficult airway" entry on electronic medical records (EMR) from 2011 to 2021 were included.
Cumulus-oocyte complex (COC) expansion and oocyte maturation are crucial processes for embryo development and fertility across species. Although miR-29b has been detected in porcine ovarian granulosa cells, its specific role in regulating oocyte maturation remains largely unknown. In this study, using the pig as a model, we report that over-expression of miR-29b lead to a decrease of COC expansion area and inhibits oocyte maturation (P<0.

The aim of this study was to prospectively evaluate the diagnostic accuracy between the position of the disc in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) according to findings on magnetic resonance (MRI) imaging and the position of the disc depending on the "roofing" in arthroscopic evaluation in patients who underwent arthroscopy for a temporomandibular disorder (TMD). This relationship was analyzed in 298 patients diagnosed with internal derangements. The concordance between the 2 methods was evaluated using the κ coefficient.

This study utilizes 3D Digital Image Correlation (DIC) assisted cross-weld tensile testing to analyze the strain response of high-strength thick-walled pipelines, providing essential insights into the strain migration and fracture mechanisms specific to girth welds. The results reveal that the welding process significantly affects the mechanical distribution within the girth weld.

This study evaluated the effectiveness and safety of an FTCA program using methadone and non-opioid adjuvant infusions (magnesium, ketamine, lidocaine, and dexmedetomidine) in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting.
Methods: This retrospective, multicenter observational study was conducted across private and public teaching sectors.
Background: The concept of a "textbook outcome" is emerging as a metric for ideal surgical outcomes. We aimed to evaluate the impact of an advanced haemodynamic monitoring (AHDM) algorithm on achieving a textbook outcome in patients undergoing hepatobiliary-pancreatic surgery.
Methods: This retrospective, multicentre observational study was conducted across private and public teaching sectors in Victoria, Australia.
Background: It is uncertain whether antiplatelets or anticoagulants are more effective in preventing early recurrent stroke in patients with cervical artery dissection. Following the publication of the observational Antithrombotic for STOP-CAD (Stroke Prevention in Cervical Artery Dissection) study, which has more than doubled available data, we performed an updated systematic review and meta-analysis comparing antiplatelets versus anticoagulation in cervical artery dissection.
Methods: The systematic review was registered in PROSPERO (CRD42023468063).
The evaluation of bis-1,2,4-triazine complexants containing eight-carbon, alkoxy-functionalized phenyl substituents at the 3,3'-positions for selective minor actinide extraction in simulated high level waste is reported. The complexant retained chemoselective extraction efficiency of actinides over lanthanides while breaking through the nonpolar diluent solubility and hydrolytic stability barriers that limit many BTP complexants. Thus, we report a BTP complexant that is readily soluble in both kerosene and isooctanol without forming precipitates, emulsions, or third phase after contact with nitric acid and extracts Am from Eu.

Previous clinical studies initiated venetoclax plus HMA in an inpatient setting owing to concerns of tumor lysis syndrome (TLS). This study (NCT03941964) evaluated the efficacy and safety of venetoclax plus HMA in a United States community-based outpatient setting in patients with ND AML (N = 60) who were treatment naïve for AML, ineligible to receive intensive chemotherapy, had no evidence of spontaneous TLS at screening, and were deemed as appropriate candidates for outpatient initiation of venetoclax plus HMA by the investigator.

Gut size or length is typically inversely related to diet quality in most taxa, and has been used to assess diet quality in a variety of systems. However, it requires animal sacrifice and time-consuming dissections.

We described an arthroscopic technique for anatomic reconstruction of the anterior talofibular ligament and calcaneofibular ligament using only 2 arthroscopic portals. This surgical technique to treat CAI is technically less demanding than other described techniques that use 3 or 4 arthroscopic portals.

Osteosarcoma frequently metastasises to the lungs, and only 20% of patients survive 5 years after the diagnosis of metastatic disease. We found that WNT5B is the most abundant WNT expressed in osteosarcoma tumours and its expression correlates with metastasis, histologic subtype and reduced survival.
