Nucleotides stimulate phosphorylation of CREB to induce cell proliferation and survival in diverse cell types. We report here that ADP induces the phosphorylation of CREB in a time- and concentration-dependent manner in chick embryo retinal progenitors in culture. ADP-induced increase in phospho-CREB is mediated by P2 receptors as it is blocked by PPADS but not by the adenosine antagonists DPCPX or ZM241385.

While pulmonary vascular disease is the primary pathological focus, RV hypertrophy and RV dysfunction are the major determinants of prognosis in PAH. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of (E)-N'-(3,4-dimethoxybenzylidene)-4-methoxybenzohydrazide (LASSBio-1386), an N-acylhydrazone derivative, on the lung vasculature and RV dysfunction induced by experimental PAH.

Four selective culture media were used under aerobic and two under anaerobic conditions. The omnivorous species had microbiota with higher population levels compared to the detritivorous species.

This enzyme is reversibly activated/partly inactivated by the addition/exhaustion of extracellular glucose. The current model of its regulation assumes the reversible disassembly/reassembly of ∼60-70% of the V1 and V0 membrane complexes, which are responsible for ATP hydrolysis and H(+) conductance, respectively.

Purification of ER from PM by a removal of PM modified with concanavalin A reduced H+ transport activity of P H+-ATPase by more than 75% while that of V H+-ATPase remained unchanged. ER H+ ATPase exhibits higher resistance to bafilomycin (I50=38.
