The primary objective of this study was to investigate patient opinions regarding the questions that should be discussed between health care professionals and postprostatectomy patients who may require radiation therapy with adjuvant or salvage intent, to help facilitate the decision-making process.
Methods: Patients who were consulted for treatment of prostate cancer at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre and who had undergone a prostatectomy were invited to complete a survey.
Mitochondrial dysfunction is often observed in aging skeletal muscle and is implicated in age-related declines in physical function. Early evidence suggests that dietary omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFAs) improve mitochondrial function. Here, we show that 10 weeks of dietary eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) supplementation partially attenuated the age-related decline in mitochondrial function in mice, but this effect was not observed with docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

The current progression-free survival for patients with advanced RCC rarely extends beyond 1-2 yr due to the development of therapeutic resistance.
