Background: Intraamniotic infection (IAI) affects 2%-5% of pregnancies, causing significant neonatal and maternal morbidity. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology suggests ampicillin and gentamicin as first-line IAI treatment. Due to potential drug toxicity, changes in gentamicin susceptibility cutoff points, and rising Enterobacterales gentamicin and ampicillin resistance, changes in IAI antibiotic treatment were implemented at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Design, Setting, And Participants: Multicenter, retrospective cohort including 502 adults hospitalized with laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 between March 1, 2020, and May 8, 2020 within 1 of 15 participating hospitals in 5 health systems across 5 states in the Southeast United States.

Methods: The study objectives were to identify risk factors that could increase progression to hospital mortality and severe disease (defined as a composite of intensive care unit admission or requirement of mechanical ventilation) in hospitalized SARS-CoV-2 patients in the Southeast United States.

Background: Gender identity disorder and the process of transitioning involve both mental and physical health, yet there is virtually no discussion of transgender health care in occupational therapy.

Purpose: This study draws on interviews with primary-care nurses and physicians about their experience with transgender health care, extending the insights gleaned there to make suggestions for occupational therapy practice with this population.

Persons with previous extrapulmonary tuberculosis have reduced peripheral blood mononuclear cell cytokine production and CD4(+) lymphocytes compared to persons with previous pulmonary tuberculosis or latent tuberculosis infection, but specific defects related to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection of macrophages have not been characterized.
