Purpose Of Review: We reviewed the latest articles in patient-reported outcomes as it relates to genital gender-affirming surgery (GGAS) and provide a narrative summary of each article.

Recent Findings: The current landscape of patient-reported outcomes measures (PROMs) within GGAS largely consists of various ad hoc questionnaires. Within the last two years, one new PROM, validated within the transgender and gender-diverse (TGD) community, have been described.

Heat-bath Monte Carlo simulations have been used to study a 12-state discretized Heisenberg model with a type of random field on simple cubic lattices of size 128×128×128. The 12 states correspond to the [110] directions of a cube. The model has the standard nonrandom two-spin exchange term with coupling energy J and a random field which consists of adding an energy h_{R} to two of the 12 spin states, chosen randomly and independently at each site.

Clenched fist injury is associated with a high risk of infectious complications and is commonly managed with formal irrigation and debridement in the operating theatre. The purpose of this study was to determine outcomes associated with irrigation and debridement of clenched fist injuries under local anaesthesia using field sterility outside the operative theatre. In this single centre study, 232 patients were identified with clenched fist injury and 210 were treated with a standard protocol beginning with administration of intravenous antibiotics and then irrigation and debridement at the bedside.

We have performed studies of the three-dimensional random-field XY model on 32 samples of L×L×L simple cubic lattices with periodic boundary conditions, with a random field strength of h_{r} = 1.5, for L= 128, using a parallelized Monte Carlo algorithm. We present results for the sample-averaged magnetic structure factor S(k[over ⃗]) over a range of temperature, using both random hot start and ferromagnetic cold start initial states, and k[over ⃗] along the [1,0,0] and [1,1,1] directions.

During the insulin resistant phase of pregnancy, the mRNA expression of free fatty acid 2 receptor (Ffar2) is upregulated and as we recently reported, this receptor contributes to insulin secretion and pancreatic beta cell mass expansion in order to maintain normal glucose homeostasis during pregnancy. As impaired gestational glucose levels can affect metabolic health of offspring, we aimed to explore the role of maternal Ffar2 expression during pregnancy on the metabolic health of offspring and also the effects of antibiotics, which have been shown to disrupt gut microbiota fermentative activity (the source of the FFA2 ligands) on gestational glucose homeostasis. We found that maternal Ffar2 expression and impaired glucose tolerance during pregnancy had no effect on the growth rates, ad lib glucose and glucose tolerance in the offspring between 3 and 6 weeks of age.

The present paper describes two statistical modelling approaches that have been developed to demonstrate switchability from the original recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) formulation (Genotropin(®) ) to a biosimilar product (Omnitrope(®) ) in children suffering from growth hormone deficiency. Demonstrating switchability between rhGH products is challenging because the process of growth varies with the age of the child and across children. The consequences of pregnancies in untreated phenylketonuria (PKU) mothers are a high incidence of spontaneous abortion, intrauterine growth retardation with microcephaly, congenital malformations, and abnormal intellectual development. PKU fathers, on the other hand, produce normal children. Obviously children of PKU women and men are at least heterozygous, proving that the abnormalities produced by the PKU mothers are not genetic but "intrauterinely environmental.

Patients And Methods: Thirteen men (mean age 45 years) previously operated on for an undescended testicle (testis-retention, TR group) and 12 age-matched men operated on for inguinal hernia or appendicitis (control group) participated in a urodynamic examination, transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) of the prostate, and blood tests for hormones and prostate-specific protein.
