Objective: Psychological stress can be a common risk factor for the development of oral and systemic disease; therefore, analysis of a pathophysiologic mechanisms that may explain this association may be significant in planning preventive strategies. The aim of this study was to investigate the association amongst academic stress, periodontal health, and salivary cortisol and nitrite and nitrate levels in a sample of university students.

Case Presentation: We here present a case of necrotizing fasciitis related to infection which occurred in an immunocompetent patient who received a cosmetic breast augmentation mastopexy combined with a Brazilian Butt Lift using autologous fat grafting.

Background: Supermicrosurgical flaps based on perforator-to-perforator microanastomoses have been described for lower limb reconstruction. This approach offers the benefit of raising short pedicles while sparing axial vessels, which effectively enables complex reconstructive techniques in comorbid patients at high risk of reconstructive failure. The aim of our study is to assess the surgical outcomes of perforator-to-perforator based flaps in comparison to conventional free flaps for reconstructions of the lower limb district, through a systematic review of literature and meta-analysis.

Background: Cosmetic tourism has increased dramatically over the years. We performed a systematic review of the literature to find reports of infective complications following cosmetic surgery, focusing on epidemiology, clinical, and surgical management. In addition, we identified cosmetic tourism trends in terms of mobilization from the country of origin and travel destinations.

Background: Epidemiologic studies on breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) currently estimate the risk between 1:300 and 1:30,000, assessed mainly in large breast reconstruction populations.

Background: Breast reconstruction (BR) is an essential part of breast cancer treatment, and the DIEP flap is considered the gold standard reconstruction technique, which uses a free abdominal flap. Immediate prepectoral breast reconstruction using an ADM with smooth round implants: A prospective observational cohort study.

Prepectoral breast reconstruction using acellular dermal matrices (ADMs) is well established and used in candidates for nipple/skin-sparing mastectomies; it is based on many different matrices and a great variability in breast implant selection. We describe our experience and clinical outcomes using Braxon® ADMs and smooth round breast implants. Females aged 18-80 years who underwent mastectomies with immediate prepectoral reconstruction between April 2019 and April 2021 were prospectively included.

Free-style technique versus computed tomographic angiography-guided perforator selection in deep inferior epigastric perforator flap harvest: A prospective clinical study.

Background: Computed tomographic angiography (CTA) is the preferred diagnostic tool in preoperative deep inferior epigastric perforator (DIEP) flap assessment, though some surgeons prefer approaching perforator selection with intraoperative findings alone.

Methods: This prospective observational study conducted between 2015 and 2020 assessed our intraoperative decision-making "free-style" technique for DIEP flap harvest. Any patient with indication for immediate or delayed breast reconstruction using abdominally based flaps and who received preoperative CTA was enrolled.
