Subcyclo laser procedure results in patients with glaucoma.

To analyse the results of subCyclo (subliminal transscleral cyclophotocoagulation) laser procedure for patients with glaucoma. The study included 50 eyes of 32 patients diagnosed with various subtypes of glaucoma for which we performed subliminal transscleral cyclophotocoagulation under retrobulbar anesthesia. After the procedure, all patients were advised to continue their antiglaucoma medication until further notice and we added a topical steroid for 2 weeks.

An atypical case of post surgery macular edema -Case report.

The article presents an atypical case of bilateral postoperative macular edema, with an unfavorable outcome, however considering the treatment options and ways to prevent this complication.

Refractive results with the use of AT.Lisa intraocular lens (2008-2015).

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the refractive results on a large cohort of patients who were implanted spherical or toric multifocal IOL's for cataract surgery or for refractive purpose. Preoperative refractive investigations included auto refractometer topography, pentacam, contact and noncontact biometry and many non-refractive investigations. The target in multifocal IOL usage was emmetropia and it was achieved in most cases.

REFRACTIVE SURGERY FOR HIGH AMETROPIES, A FEW CONCLUSIONS.

This paper presents a few clinical cases of patients with high ametropies and/or anisometropia, who underwent one or two surgical procedures in our clinic, in order to obtain independence of glasses or contact lenses. Twenty cases of high ametropies were included in our study, with or without astigmatism, with transparent lenses, who presented in our clinic for surgical treatment to correct their refractive errors. Postoperatively, we analyzed the results and took decisions for each case in particular; sometimes a second surgical procedure was needed.

Total retinal detachment occurring after minor head trauma.

The objective of this article is to present the case of a patient with a severe decrease of visual acuity that occurred after an apparently minor head injury. Following the investigations, the patient was diagnosed with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment that was triggered by a fall from the same level and which occurred on a background of lattice degeneration. In this case, a minor trauma caused a severe complication because the patient had a contributing factor for the complication.

Old and new in exploring the anterior chamber angle.

Angle-closure glaucoma includes a number of entities with closed angle, elevated intraocular pressure, in association with optic nerve damage and visual field defects as common markers. These entities are characterized by irido-trabecular apposition, irido-trabecular synechiae or both. The angle configuration must be systematically checked at least one time in patients presenting with raised intraocular pressure or glaucoma.

POSTERIOR UVEITIS OR WET AGE-RELATED MACULAR DEGENERATION? CASE REPORT.

We present the case of a 61-year-old patient without previous ophthalmic or general history, who developed unilateral posterior pole granuloma and was diagnosed with posterior uveitis most likely due to a systemic Toxocara canis infection. Clinical examination and ancillary investigations showed elements that were also consistent with wet ARMD, but laboratory tests and successful use of oral anti-helminthic and corticosteroid therapy in decreasing the macular lesion and improving visual acuity, confirmed the diagnosis of posterior uveitis.
