Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the in vitro effects of coffee exposure on the color and roughness of conventional and bulk-fill resin composites, with and without surface pre-reacted glass-ionomer (S-PRG) filler.
Methodology: Forty-eight cylindrical samples (Ø6 mm × 2 mm) were prepared and categorized as follows (n = 12 per group): conventional nano-hybrid (Tetric N-Ceram, Ivoclar); nano-hybrid with S-PRG filler (Beautifil II, Shofu); bulk-fill (Tetric N-Ceram Bulk Fill, Ivoclar); and bulk-fill with S-PRG filler (Beautifil Bulk Restorative, Shofu). The samples were assessed for surface roughness (Ra, μm), color coordinates (CIE Lb), and overall color change (ΔE, ΔE).
Objectives: Considering the fact that resin infiltrants lack antibacterial activity, this study assessed the influence of the quaternary ammonium monomer dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate (DMAHDM) and amorphous calcium phosphate nanoparticles (NACP) on the physical and antibacterial properties of an experimental resin infiltrant (ERI).
Methodology: The following groups were established: ERI (75/25 wt.% TEGDMA/BISEMA), ERI + 2.

Background: Since bleaching gels can cause adverse effects on tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate new remineralizing agents on the market and their effects.
Material And Methods: Seventy-five bovine enamel/dentin blocks (4x4x3mm) were randomly divided into six groups (n=10): Negative Control (NC) with no bleaching treatment or brushing; 10 CP (Carbamide Peroxide) (no brushing - Whiteness Perfect FGM); CT12 + 10 CP (Colgate Total® 12); ES + 10 CP (Elmex® Sensitive); BPC + 10 CP (Bianco® ProClinical); CMP + 10 CP (Colgate® Máxima Proteção Anticáries). The color was evaluated by reflectance spectrophotometry (∆E*ab, ∆E00, and ∆WID) at times T1 (baseline), T2 (24 hours after brushing), and T3 (24 hours after bleaching).
Purpose: To evaluate how fluoride- or chitosan-based toothpaste used during at-home bleaching affects enamel roughness, tooth color, and staining susceptibility.
Methods: Bovine enamel blocks were submitted to a 14-day cycling regime considering a factorial design (bleaching agent x toothpaste, 2 x 3), with n=10: (1) bleaching with 16% carbamide peroxide (CP) or 6% hydrogen peroxide (HP), and (2) daily exposure of a fluoride (1,450 ppm F-NaF) toothpaste (FT), chitosan-based toothpaste (CBT), or distilled water (control). Then, 24 hours after the last day of bleaching procedure the samples were exposed to a coffee solution.
To assess the physical properties and topographical aspect of dental enamel's surface microhardness (KHN), surface roughness (Ra), and color parameters CIELAB (∆E*), CIEDE 2000 (∆E), and whiteness index for dentistry (∆WI) after toothbrushing with experimental toothpaste formulations with the following mineral clay types: kaolin, Sparclay SGY, and Tersil CGY used as abrasive component. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was performed for topographical analyses purposes. A total of 96 bovine incisors were used in the experiment.

ALP activity was assessed at different pH levels and HO concentrations, and in HO- and Tris-based thickeners. Circular dichroism (CD) was used to examine the ALP secondary structure in water-, Tris-, or HO-based mediums.

Methods: A total of 216 bovine tooth specimens were divided for microhardness and color analyses (n = 108) and block randomized into nine groups (n = 12): (G1) commercial CP (Whiteness Perfect, FGM; Brazil); (G2) experimental CP; (G3) CP-0.5%CaPPs; (G4) CP-1.
In dentistry, various animal models are used to evaluate adhesive systems, dental caries and periodontal diseases. Metalloproteinases (MMPs) are enzymes that degrade collagen in the dentin matrix and are categorized in over 20 different classes. Collagenases and gelatinases are intrinsic constituents of the human dentin organic matrix fibrillar network and are the most abundant MMPs in this tissue.

Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the incorporation of barium and ytterbium particles on the physical properties of resin infiltrants. Groups were divided according to the addition of ytterbium oxide (Y) alone (30 or 40%) or Y with barium (YB) (15/15% or 20/20% respectively) in the Icon commercial infiltrant and in the experimental infiltrant base.

This article presents 2 cases in which computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) was used to fabricate glass fiber posts to restore an anterior tooth and a posterior tooth with severe coronal destruction. In the past decade, CAD/CAM technology has improved, allowing high-precision milling of customized glass fiber posts. This can enhance the biomechanical behavior of the restoration, as the post and core are milled in a single unit, decreasing the risk of failure near the core junction or in the body of the core.
