A panel of 106 insertion/deletion (InDel) polymorphisms and a method of their genotyping on biochips were proposed as a new approach to genetic personal identification. Short lengths and low mutation rates are basic properties of InDel markers, which thus have significant advantages over short tandem repeats (STRs) widely used in forensics. The allele frequency distributions of all known InDel polymorphisms were studied in the five largest world populations (European, East Asian, South Asian, African, and American).

Ancient DNA analyses help to solve the problems related to the genogeographic origin and migration patterns of populations. The Khazar Khaganate is a subject of controversy among researchers. Its complex historical development, lack of a sufficient number of artistic and written sources, the disappearance of representatives of Khazar culture leaves open the question of the appearance of the Khazars.

The article analyzes the current state of the medical service market of the Russian Federation, including: an assessment of the volume of paid medical services to the population, monetary expenses of households to pay for medical services, expenses of the consolidated budget of the Russian Federation for healthcare, investments in the fixed assets in healthcare, the volume of the pharmaceutical market in Russia and the imports of medicines and medical equipment. The rating of the largest non-governmental medical organizations in Russia in terms of revenue, the number of branches, the cost of initial admission and the number of patients was presented, the total revenue of the top 20 non-governmental medical organizations was analyzed. Negative trends affecting the current state of the medical service market were studied, the risks from the imposition of the sanctions and opportunities for further development of the medical services market were determined; measures of state support for health care in the context of sanctions were discussed.

This paper presents a method for genotyping a panel of 60 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) using single-stage PCR followed by hybridization on a hydrogel biochip. The pool of analyzed polymorphisms consists of 41 SNPs included in the HIrisPlex-S panel, 4 SNPs of the AB0 gene (261G>Del, 297A>G, 657C>T, 681G>A), markers of the AMELX and AMELY genes, and 14 SNP markers of the Y chromosome haplogroups: B (M60), C (M130), D (CTS3946), E (M5388), G (P257), H (M2920), I (U179), J (M304), L (M185), N (M231), O (M175), Q (M1105), R (P224) and T (M272). These genetic data allow one to predict the phenotype of the desired person according to the characteristics of eye, hair, skin color, AB0 blood group, sex, and genogeographic origin in the male line.

Presents the device for analysis the thermally stimulated electrical conductivity of composites in the wide temperature range. The main advantage of the module in relation to those described earlier is that it allows experiments both in the mode of measuring the current of thermally stimulated depolarization (TSDC) at low temperatures, and in the mode of measuring the thermally stimulated conductivity current (TSCC) up to very high temperatures. Using PMMA/PVDF mixtures as an example, it is shown that the TSDC method can be used to temperature transitions analysis in the many composite materials at low temperatures.

The article analyzes the impact of the pandemic COVID-19 in 2020 on the state of competition in the medical services market and the competitiveness of primary care organizations, and identifies prospects for the development of the medical services market. The SWOT-analysis and analysis of complaints and statements of citizens on the quality of medical services made it possible to comprehensively assess the strengths and weaknesses of organizations, external opportunities and threats, specify the positions of medical organizations in the medical services market and determine strategic directions for the development and ensuring the competitiveness of primary medical organizations. The results of the study allowed the authors to propose strategic directions for ensuring the competitiveness of the primary medical organization, namely, the creation of mechanisms for material and intangible incentives for medical personnel; improving the quality of health services; modernization of the medical diagnostic base of the primary medical organization.

We studied magnetostatic response of the BiLaFeO- KBr composites (BLFO-KBr) consisting of nanosized (≈100 nm) ferrite BiLaFeO (BLFO) conjugated with fine grinded ionic conducting KBr. When the fraction of KBr is rather small (less than 15 wt%) the magnetic response of the composite is very weak and similar to that observed for the BLFO (pure KBr matrix without BiLaFeO has no magnetic response as anticipated). However, when the fraction of KBr increases above 15%, the magnetic response of the composite changes substantially and the field dependence of magnetization reveals ferromagnetic-like hysteresis loop with a remanent magnetization about 0.

Sulfonated Zn phthalocyanine, as a prospective photosensitizer in the photodynamic therapy of tumors, is investigated by means of Raman, infrared, and fluorescence spectroscopies. Conventional and surface-enhanced spectra from this photosensitizer are obtained and compared. Gold nano-islands attached to silica cores (Au-SiO) are proposed as nanostructures providing plasmonically enhanced signals.

Septic encephalopathy is a form of general cerebral dysfunction caused by a systemic inflammatory reaction. Its investigation encounters enormous difficulties for the lack of reliable biological markers of neuronal lesions and methods for the evaluation of consciousness in severely ill patients. Hence, the importance of correct clinical interpretation of the character and magnitude of CNS activity.

Severe community-acquired pneumonia implies the necessity of its early differential diagnostics from a wide range of nosological forms requiring not only therapeutic but also surgical treatment. The authors consider the causes of hypodiagnostics of community-acquired pneumonia and illustrate difficulties of differential diagnosis of this condition by concrete examples.

Graphene-enhanced Raman scattering (GERS) spectra and coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) of thymine molecules adsorbed on a single-layer graphene were studied. The enhancement factor was shown to depend on the molecular groups of thymine. In the GERS spectra of thymine, the main bands are shifted with respect to those for molecules adsorbed on a glass surface, indicating charge transfer for thymine on graphene.

Coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) of carbon nanostructures, namely, highly oriented pyrolytic graphite, graphene nanoplatelets, graphene oxide, and multiwall carbon nanotubes as well CARS spectra of thymine (Thy) molecules adsorbed on graphene oxide were studied. The spectra of the samples were compared with spontaneous Raman scattering (RS) spectra. The CARS spectra of Thy adsorbed on graphene oxide are characterized by shifts of the main bands in comparison with RS.

Aim: To investigate the risk factors and main clinical signs of fatal pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE) in young subjects.

Subjects And Methods: Medical case reports and postmortem examination results were retrospectively analyzed in 32 patients (all males) who had died from PTE in different Moscow health care facilities in 2002 to 2010.

Results: No idiopathic thromboembolism cases were found.

Etiology of croupous pneumonia remaining a challenging problem has a long history of investigations. The term croupous pneumonia is traditionally used in this country to describe the form of the disease characterized by hyperergic inflammation and specific clinical/laboratory parameters. A valuable contribution to the study of this condition was made by S.

Adsorption of guest molecules on host surfaces can lead to dramatic changes in the spectral properties of the guest. One such effect is surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA), observed when the guest is adsorbed on, for example, thin films, metal surfaces, or nanotubes. p-Nitrobenzoic acid (p-NBA) exhibits a SEIRA effect when adsorbed on Ag and Au.

Intravenous injection of chloramine derivatives of amino acids and taurine reduced the mortality rate in mice with thrombosis induced by intravenous injection of ADP or collagen-epinephrine mixture. Intravenous injection of N,N-dichlorotaurine caused 50% inhibition of platelet aggregation induced by ADP and measured in the platelet-enriched plasma in vitro. The antithrombotic effect of chloramine derivatives of amino acids and taurine is related to their ability to suppress functional activity of platelets.
