Depression is a common mental disorder. Its treatment with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) is effective only in a fraction of patients, and pharmacoresistance is increasing steadily. Intranasal (IN) drug delivery to the brain stands out as a promising strategy to improve current therapeutic approaches by operating as a shuttle to overcome the blood-brain barrier.

Although mainly a respiratory illness, there is growing interest in non-respiratory manifestations, particularly cardiovascular ones. At our center, mobilization of cardiologists with intensive care training was needed.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, lockdowns have deprived people of major sources of social support and coping, with others representing threats. Hence, a major stressor during the pandemic has been a sense of social disconnection and loneliness.

Although this new design is being used in clinical practice, the evidence is mostly limited to case series and has not been systematically reviewed.
Questions/purposes: (1) How much did patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and ROM improve among patients who receive a lateralized RSA implant? (2) What proportion of shoulders experience complications, revision surgery, or scapular notching?
Methods: The PubMed and EMBASE databases were searched from database inception to January 31, 2020.
Immunology is a knowledge area of paramount importance in life sciences and health care professional education with diverse applications, as well as for a general public understanding of issues related to vaccination. However, many concepts are complex and difficult to understand based only on conventional classes or static images. The use of tools, such as educational software, may enhance the learning of dynamic molecular phenomena that occur in our bodies.

Because of budget and theatre time constraints, the trauma waiting list often exceeds 50 - 60 patients who need urgent and emergent surgery in high-volume orthopaedic trauma centres. This situation is exacerbated by other surgical disciplines using orthopaedic theatre time for life-threatening injuries because of lack of own theatre availability.

Advanced MRI techniques have provided clear visualization of the distal dural ring (DDR) to determine whether an aneurysm is intracavernous, transitional or intradural for decision-making. We analyzed the diagnostic accuracy of MRI in predicting whether a paraclinoid aneurysm is intracavernous, transitional or intradural.

However, youth PPI has been an understudied area. This protocol paper describes a new project that aims to summarize what is known about PPI with young people in mental health research.

Patients with symptomatic VL have an impaired anti--specific CD4 T-cell response, which is reversed after clinical cure. In contrast, the quality of the CD4 and CD8 T-cell responses involved in resistance and/or cure of VL relies on the capability of these cells to activate polyfunctional and memory responses, which are associated with the simultaneous production of three cytokines: IFN-γ, IL-2, and TNF-α.

Although previous research has identified self-care strategies PCPs engage in, there is a lack of focus on what responses are helpful and/or unhelpful. The aim of the current study is to understand and describe the experiences of PCPs and to explore the helpful and unhelpful responses to work-related stress they employ.

Nevertheless, the dissemination and molecular epidemiology of the Lambda VOI in Brazil is unknown apart from a single case report.

Here we aimed to explore these properties using cerebral organoids (COs) derived from fibroblasts of individuals with confirmed genetic mutations including PRNP, trisomy 21 (T21), and LRRK2, which are associated with Creutzfeldt Jakob disease, Down Syndrome, and Parkinson's disease. We utilized no known disease/healthy COs (HC) as normal function controls.

Methods: This is a cross-sectional study, involving 298 athletes aged between 10 and 17 years, submitted to measurement of skin folds, weight and height, and collection of capillary blood in duplicate to determine hemoglobin values. It was carried out in a random sample composed of athletes from eight sport modalities.
Accumulation of aggregated alpha-synuclein (α-syn) is believed to play a pivotal role in the pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease (PD) and other synucleinopathies. As a key constituent of Lewy pathology, more than 90% of α-syn in Lewy bodies is phosphorylated at serine-129 (pS129) and hence, it is used extensively as a marker for α-syn pathology. However, the exact role of pS129 remains controversial and the kinase(s) responsible for the phosphorylation have yet to be determined.

Our objective was to assess the interobserver and intraobserver reliability for the RUST in diaphyseal femoral fractures treated with intramedullary (IM) nailing.
Patients And Methods: A total of 60 sets of anteroposterior (AP) and lateral radiographs of diaphyseal femoral fractures treated by reamed IM nailing were randomly selected from a prospectively collected database.
Ants are the dominant group of animals in many habitats, particularly in tropical rainforests. High abundance and formation of large colonies convert them into a potential food source for a broad spectrum of animals. In this paper we review myrmecovory (consumption of ants) in Neotropical primates.

The present study reports the preparation of bionanocomposite films of alginate with different loadings of pure reduced graphene oxide (rGO) or of mixed zinc oxide-rGO (ZnO-rGO) fillers by solvent casting. Sepiolite is used to make compatible rGO with the hydrophilic matrix.

Herein, it is investigated the influence of surfactant structures on the dispersibility of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) within starch matrix. Three different ionic surfactants, sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS), cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium cholate (SC), are employed to disperse the MWNT.

Within this context, triterpene betulinic acid (BA) exhibits several biological properties but its chemopreventive effect has not been fully demonstrated. The present study investigated the antigenotoxic potential of BA against doxorubicin (DXR)-induced genotoxicity using the mouse peripheral blood micronucleus assay, as well as its anticarcinogenic activity against 1,2dimethylhydrazine (DMH)-induced colorectal lesions in rats.

A thorough study was conducted regarding the formation of the MCD and NCD films through the adjustment of methane in CH/H gas mixture, and the two films were compared in terms of crystalline structure, apparent doping level, and electrochemical properties. The physicochemical results showed that the NCD film had higher sp carbon content and greater doping level; this contributed to improvements in its surface roughness, as well as its specific capacitance and charge transfer, which consequently enhanced its electrocatalytic activity in comparison with the MCD.

Several constructs such as experiential avoidance, cognitive fusion, shame, and self-criticism have recently emerged as potential intervention targets to improve mental health in IBD. Psychotherapeutic models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and compassion-based interventions are known to target these constructs.
