Objective: To develop a new questionnaire with good psychometric properties to measure satisfaction with medical care in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
Method: The initial instrument was composed of 37 items, arranged in 6 dimensions: efficacy, ease and convenience, impact on daily activities, satisfaction with medical care, undesired effects of medication, and overall satisfaction. Items and dimensions were extracted from reviewing existing instruments, 3 focus groups with chronic patients, and a panel of 8 experts.
Background And Objective: To achieve a linguistic adaptation and psychometric validation into Spanish of the ID-Pain questionnaire for the screening of differential diagnosis of pain with a neuropathic component.
Material And Method: Cross-sectional validation study carried out in 2 phases (cultural adaptation into Spanish language and validation study to test psychometric properties of the scale) in men and women > 18 years, with neuropathic (NP) and nociceptive (NNP) chronic pain for more than 6 months. Feasibility and reliability were explored.
Objective: To develop and validate a multidimensional generic questionnaire measuring satisfaction with treatment with medicines. The questionnaire was designed to be used in chronic patients undergoing pharmacological treatment for any disease.
Methods: After a literature review and cognitive debriefing process with an expert panel of six members and 21 chronic patients in four focus groups, a preliminary instrument with 36 items grouped into six dimensions was developed.
Background: The Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia-Patient Impact Measure (BPH-PIM) is a self-reported quality-of-life questionnaire for measuring the impact of urinary/prostate symptoms on the quality of life of patients with BPH. The aim of the present study was to adapt the original instrument to Spanish (for use in Spain) and to assess the psychometric properties of the new version.
Methods: Linguistic adaptation was performed using the standard processes for establishing conceptual equivalence, and was partially conducted in parallel with original instrument development.
