Article Synopsis
  • Trigger finger can cause pain and hinder daily activities, leading to a search for less invasive treatment options due to complications from traditional surgery.
  • An experimental study on cadavers compared three treatments: a new device, ultrasound-guided technique, and a percutaneous needle method, focusing on the effectiveness of A1 pulley release and safety concerning surrounding structures.
  • The new device and ultrasound methods achieved complete A1 pulley release in 100% of cases, while the needle method only succeeded 38% of the time, with the new device showing less damage to flexor tendons and no neurovascular injuries, making it a safer alternative for treating trigger finger.

CT showed progressive contrast enhancement.
