Objetive: To evaluate long-term renal function and morbimortality in non-syndromic Wilms tumor (WT) survivors.
Methods: Retrospective study about WT patients treated in 1993-2017, according to SIOP protocols. Mortality, glomerular filtration rate (GFR), prevalence of hypertension and requirement of dialysis and renal transplant were evaluated.
Aim Of The Study: To present our results with transanal irrigation (TAI) for management of fecal incontinence and fecal constipation without response to other treatments.
Methods: Retrospective study of patients with fecal constipation and/or fecal incontinence treated with TAI between 2013 and 2017. A Rintala questionnaire(1) was carried out comparing pre and post-treatment results.
Aim Of The Study: mTOR inhibitors are being used to treat complex vascular anomalies (VA) without response to conventional treatments. We report our results in pediatric patients treated with sirolimus.
Methods: Retrospective review of patients treated with sirolimus between 2014 and 2017, analyzing vascular anomaly type, treatment response and complications.
Three-dimensional (3D) technology is increasingly applied for planning challenging surgical interventions. We report our experience using 3D printing and virtual reconstruction for surgical planning of complex tumor resections in children. Data were obtained from preoperative magnetic resonance.

Material And Methods: Retrospective study of laparoscopic inguinal hernia and hydrocele repair performed during the period between 2003-2016.
An 11-month-old female infant presented on the first postoperative (PO) day following an elective pyeloplasty, a dark bluish erythema of her lumbotomy wound, plus a satellite lesion of the same characteristics. Fever and sepsis developed, and despite broad spectrum antibiotics (meropenem and vancomycin) were started, a diagnosis of necrotizing soft-tissue infection (NSTI or necrotizing fasciitis) was established. Surgical debridement of both lesions was performed on day 3 PO, and a surgical contamination (ring retractor blade) was suspected, due to the particular geography of the lesion.

After suspecting a cystic content due to positive transillumination, on ultrasonography a scrotal cyst separated from the testis, of 5 cm in its maximum length, was confirmed. Due to size, parental anxiety, and the referred short evolution, excision was decided.

This is evident when gangrene produces perforation and pneumoperitoneum, with this being the only universally accepted radiological indication for the surgical intervention of NEC.
Objective: To perform an analysis on patients with surgically managed NEC, including determining how the decision to intervene is reached, the outcomes, and if patients with perforation had a pneumoperitoneum.
Objectives: To determine the current status of the patients operated on for hypospadias in our region, in order to adapt the surgical technique to their real needs.
Material And Methods: A descriptive and observational study. Interviews were conducted with hypospadias surgery patients in our hospital between 1976 and 1996, focusing on their urinary and sexual function and psychological impact.
Introduction: Neonatal surgical wound infection occurs in almost 50% of neonatal procedures. It increases the rates of morbimortality in neonatal units. There is no guidelines about prevention of wound infection in neonatal surgery.

Four-phase computed tomography with intravenous contrast (noncontrast, arterial, nephrographic, and pyelographic phases) is the choice for initial imaging, although ultrasonography might also be used in children with minimal symptoms. The American Association for the Surgery of Trauma developed the known system for renal injury grading, which was modified in 2011.

The improvement in survival has meant that postoperative sequelae can be diagnosed and treated. The aim of this article is to evaluate the long-term outcomes of patients treated in our centre.

In this series, we analyzed all cases of inguinoscrotal migration of an VPS catheter at our center. Between 1975 and 2015, 295 VPS insertions were performed.

From 2007 on, a multidisciplinary approach protocol based in preterm caesarean delivery at 34-35th gestational age (in order to minimize peel injury) plus primary closure is followed in our institution. Prior to this, term delivery, either by caesarean section or not, was the rule.

Material And Methods: Descriptive study of a survey results, conducted by phone, email and online, about 20 items related to the placement of these devices in children and the use of ultrasound in this procedure.
Results: We analyzed 71 surveys from 31 national hospitals.
Objectives: In the historical series, the diagnostic yield of lumbosacral magnetic resonance imaging to rule out occult spinal dysraphism (or occult myelodysplasia), requested by paediatric urology, ranged from 2% to 15%. The aim of this study was to define our cost-effectiveness in children with urinary symptoms and to define endpoints that increase the possibility of finding occult spinal dysraphism.
Patients And Methods: A screening was conducted on patients with urinary dysfunction for whom an magnetic resonance imaging was requested by the paediatric urology clinic, for persistent symptoms after treatment, voiding dysfunction or other clinical or urodynamic findings.
Objectives: To analyze clinical and electromyographic treatment outcome of dysfunctional voiding (DV) with animated Biofeedback (Bfb). Clinical or electromyographic variables associated with higher success rate were checked.
Patients And Methods: Cross-sectional study of patients with DV, that in 2010- 2015 followed animated Bfb program.
Introduction: Segmental cervico facial hemangiomas are defined as those longer than 5 cm, affecting a specific facial area. These lesions can be eventually associated with the PHACE syndrome. Our aim is to propose neonatal treatment with propranolol, showing its efficacy/safety, given the scarce evidence on its neonatal use.

Material And Methods: Retrospective review of all testicular tumors in children under 12 years diagnosed and treated in our clinical setting from 1998-2015. Data on their presentation, study and management were collected.
Introduction: Extracorporeal Shock Wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is the cornerstone of pediatric urolitiasis management. We evaluated its efficacy and complications in a series of children.
Material And Methods: Children who were managed with ESWL between 2003 and 2012 were retrospectively reviewed.
Introduction: There are few studies on the long term follow up of pyeloplasty. Is there a residual pelvis dilatation in all successful procedures? How is the long term evolution of the ecographic parameters and measures postoperatively (PO)?
Patients And Methods: We reviewed all successful Anderson-Hynes pyeloplasties performed on obstructed renal pelvis with an anterio-posterior diameter >15 mm during 2001-2010. Ultrasound controls were made at 3 and 6 months postoperatively and then yearly afterwards.
Objectives: Surgical site infection (SSI) has a considerable impact on neonatal morbidity. There are known risk factors such type of surgery (clean/contaminated), prematurity, surgical length, hypoalbuminemia, previous infection, prolonged mechanical ventilation, and so on. Many perioperative factors have not been studied, opposite to adults.

In Flowmetry plus pelvic Electromyography (EMG), the perineal surface electrodes will show a persistent activity during voiding. The cause is believed to be the persistence of an immature bladder control.
