Predictors of the Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) in SF-36 in Knee Osteoarthritis Patients: A Multimodal Model With Moderators and Mediators.

Purpose The study aimed to examine associations between the 36-item short form health survey (SF-36) in clinical and neurophysiological measures to identify its predictors in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) in a rehabilitation program. Methods We analyzed data from our cohort study (DEFINE cohort). We analyzed data from our KOA arm, with 107 patients, including clinical assessments, demographic data, pain scales, motor function (Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), 10 meters walk test, and 6-minute walk), balance (BBS), sleepiness (ESS), and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Electroencephalography (EEG).

Establishment and characterization of human bladder cancer cell lines BexBra1, BexBra2, and BexBra4.

Bladder cancer (BC) is the fourth most common cancer in the USA. In Brazil, BC represents 3% of the total existing carcinomas in the population and represents the second highest incidence among urological tumors. The majority of bladder cancer cell lines available were derived from Caucasians and established in the seventies or eighties.

Determination of cocaine, benzoylecgonine and cocaethylene in human hair by solid-phase microextraction and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.

The present work describes a highly precise and sensitive method developed to detect cocaine (COC), benzoylecgonine (BE, its main metabolite) and cocaethylene (CE, transesterification product of the coingestion of COC with ethanol) in human head hair samples. The method was based on an alkylchloroformate derivatization of benzoylecgonine and the extraction of the analytes by solid-phase microextraction (SPME). Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) was used to identify and quantify the analytes in selected ion monitoring mode (SIM).
