Results of cosmetic lower limb lengthening by the lengthening over nail technique.

We conducted a retrospective study by reviewing our results following cosmetic lengthening using the lengthening over nail technique in terms of the importance of the patient selection process, bone and soft tissue complications, and functional and subjective clinical outcomes. The study data were obtained from medical records and radiographs. A total of 32 patients, 24 males and 8 females, with constitutional short stature underwent the lengthening over nail technique for cosmetic purposes between 2000 and 2013.

Application of cement on strategic vertebrae in the treatment of the osteoporotic spine.

Background Context: The application of pedicle screws with cement to strengthen the fixation of the osteoporotic spine has increasingly gained popularity. However, the technique has also led to an increase in cement-related complications.

Purpose: The aim of the present study was to compare the clinical and radiological results of the patients with degenerative spinal pathologies who were treated with pedicle screws and cement injections on all segments versus those who were treated with cement injections only on the strategic vertebrae selected.

Fourth primary malignant tumor in a patient with possible li-fraumeni syndrome: synchronous diagnosis of postirradiation sarcoma, cutaneous relapse of a previous soft tissue sarcoma, and lung adenocarcinoma.

We present a 46-year-old female patient who is diagnosed with synchronous postirradiation sarcoma, cutaneous relapse of a previous soft tissue sarcoma, and lung adenocarcinoma. More than one malignant tumor at the same time with an accompanying relapse of a previous malignant tumor is a rare entity. A relatively young patient diagnosed with adenocarcinoma of the urethra before age 40, which is an unusual tumor for that age, later three more different malignant tumors being diagnosed, two of which are synchronous, causes the suspicion of Li-Fraumeni syndrome.

Popliteal lymph node metastasis of tibial osteoblastic osteosarcoma.

Introduction: We report a case with lymph node metastasis of osteosarcoma, which is a rare entity in comparison to hematogeneous lung or bone metastasis.

Presentation Of Case: Twenty-seven years old male patient referred to our clinic complaining of ongoing left knee pain and swelling since one month without a history of prior trauma. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a mass of malignant nature which causes more prominent expansion and destruction of the bone distally with periosteal reaction.

A rare cause of 'drop foot' in the pediatric age group: Proximal fibular osteochondroma a report of 5 cases.

Introduction: The fibular nerve is the most frequent site of neural entrapment in the lower extremity and the third most common site in the body, following the median and ulnar nerves. The peroneal nerve is commonly injured upon trauma. Additionally, a dropped foot might be a symptom related to the central nervous system or spinal pathologies in pediatric patients.

Simultaneous shoulder and elbow dislocation.

Ipsilateral shoulder and elbow dislocation is very rare and only six articles are present in the literature mentioning this kind of a complex injury. With this presentation we aim to emphasise the importance of assessing the adjacent joints in patients with trauma in order not to miss any accompanying pathologies. We report a case of a 43-year-old female patient with ipsilateral right shoulder and elbow dislocation treated conservatively.

Role of pathophysiology of patellofemoral instability in the treatment of spontaneous medial patellofemoral subluxation: a case report.

Introduction: Medial patellar subluxation is usually seen after lateral retinacular release. Spontaneous medial subluxation of the patella is a very rare condition. There are few reports in the literature on the pathophysiology of iatrogenic medial patellar subluxation.

[All-inside meniscal repair using the RapidLoc device].

Objectives: Although conventional suture techniques yield satisfactory results in the treatment of meniscal ruptures, they are inherent with long operative time and high complication rates. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of meniscal repair with the use of the RapidLoc device.

Methods: The study included 57 consecutive patients (all males; mean age 24 years; range 17 to 33 years) who underwent meniscal repair with the RapidLoc device.
