Purpose: To assess the value of CT guided dual site infiltration in patients with pudendal neuralgia and determine prognostic factors of efficacy. Materials and methods. Retrospective review of 49 patients with suspected pudendal neuralgia who underwent one or multiple injections of local anesthetics and steroids.

Methods: A retrospective study included 31 patients suffering from Arnold's neuralgia and having undergone a total of 45 CT-guided infiltrations of the greater occipital nerve (GON), in a proximal site (emergence of the GON, technique 1, n = 24) or in two proximal sites (emergence of the GON and at the site of the first bend of the GON drawn by the GON, technique 2, n = 21). Infiltration was considered to be effective when pain relief was equal to or greater than 50% for at least 1 month.
Context: The "Standards, Options and Recommendations" (SOR) project, started in 1993, is a collaboration between the federation of French Cancer Centers (FNCLCC), the 20 French cancer centers, and specialists from French public universities, general hospitals and private clinics. The main objective is the development of clinical practice guidelines to improve the quality of health care and the outcome of cancer patients. The methodology is based on a literature review and critical appraisal by a multidisciplinary group of experts, with feedback from specialists in cancer care delivery.

Stellate ganglion block by in situ injection of a local anesthetic is an efficient and accepted method for diagnosis and treatment. The sedative effect is however transitory linked to the short effect of the drug.

He underwent 5 stellate ganglion RF neurolysis over a two year period, followed by progressive and complete pain relief. We will underscore the value of CT guidance during needle placement and the efficacy of RF neurolysis.

The ventilatory effects of tramadol (T) and nefopam (N) are evaluated in anesthetized patients with enflurane in a closed circuit breathing system and compared with the effects of pentazocine (P). The following parameters tidal volume (VT), minute ventilation (V), CO2 (capnometry) occlusion pressure (OP), ventilatory response to hypercarbia are recorded after 30 minutes of anaesthesia, before and after repeated injections of the analgesics, P: 15 mg, N: 40 mg, T: 100 mg are injected I.V.

Use of a tidal volume and an end-expiratory pressure different for each lung produces a drastic reduction of chest-X-ray abnormalities. In an homogen group of ten patients studied before and treated with conventional respiratory support, chest-X-ray abnormalities were seen in 80% cases.

The peroperative pulmonary compliance in spontaneous ventilation is studied in two series of ten anesthetized patients with halothane and enflurane, in closed system. The tidal volumes (inspiratory and expiratory at noflow point) are recorded by pneumotachograph (Godard 17212). The intrathoracic to mouth differential pressure is recorded by pressograph (Godard 17300).
