When developing a digital health solution, product owners, healthcare professionals, researchers, IT teams, and consumers require timely, accurate contextual information to inform solution development. Insights Reporting can rapidly draw together information from literature, end users and existing technology to inform the development process. This was the case when creating an online brain cancer peer support platform where solution development was conducted in parallel with contextual information synthesis.

A Hybrid Physical-Digital Simulation Laboratory to Expedite Context-Aware Design and Usability Testing in Digital Health.

Fit within existing physical and digitalised workflows is a critical aspect of digital health software usability. Early, iterative exploration of contextual usability issues is complicated by barriers of access to healthcare settings. The Validitron SimLab is a new facility for digital health prototyping that augments immersive, realistic physical environments with a digital sandbox allowing new and existing software to be easily set up and tested in the physical space.

The Incidence of Hypoglycemia among Insulin-Treated Patients with Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes: Bangladeshi Cohort of International Operations-Hypoglycemia Assessment Tool Study.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to assess the incidence of hypoglycemia in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) or type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in Bangladeshi cohort of the International Operations-Hypoglycemia Assessment Tool study.

Materials And Methods: Patients diagnosed with either T1DM or T2DM, aged ≥18 years, treated with insulin (any regimen) for >12 months, and completed self-assessment questionnaires (SAQs) to record demography, treatment information, and hypoglycemia during the 6-month retrospective and 4-week prospective periods (a total of 7 months) were enrolled in the study.

Results: A total of 1179 patients were enrolled and completed the SAQ1 (T1DM, = 25; T2DM, = 1154).

Comparison of four different FIM configurations--a simulation study.

Focused impedance measurements (FIM) are used in several fields, and address the problem of measuring the volume impedance of an object within a volume conductor. Several electrode configurations are possible, and these have different properties. Sensitivity fields of four configurations have been investigated.

Assessment of baseline characteristics, glycemic control and oral antidiabetic treatment in Asian patients with diabetes: The Registry for Assessing OAD Usage in Diabetes Management (REASON) Asia study.

Background: To assess baseline characteristics, glycemic control, and treatment with oral antidiabetic drugs (OAD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients.

Methods: This multinational, observational study recruited patients ≥ 21 years of age who were newly diagnosed and/or treated with OAD monotherapy for <6 months but were inadequately controlled. In cross-sectional phase, data on demographics, medical history, diabetic complications and comorbidities, OAD treatment, glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and fasting blood glucose (FBG) were collected.

Knowledge of HIV and AIDS among tertiary students in Bangladesh.

To examine the levels and predictors of knowledge on HIV and AIDS, a survey was conducted among 392 tertiary level students in the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Students demonstrated a high knowledge of transmission and prevention of HIV and AIDS yet with considerable misconception. All students said that unprotected sex with an HIV-positive man or woman can transmit the HIV virus to a negative man or woman but at the same time 43.

Hormone replacement therapy and bone mineral density: a co-twin approach.

Objective: Our objective was to estimate the difference in bone mass at clinically relevant sites within female twin pairs who were discordant for use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Methods: We studied 46 female twin pairs who were discordant for HRT use. Bone mineral content and density were measured at the lumbar spine, total hip, femoral neck, 13 total forearm, and the total body.

Cognitive impairment in elderly, non-insulin dependent diabetic men in Bangladesh.

This was a case-comparison study to determine whether there was any association between non-insulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) and cognitive impairment in subjects over the age of 65 years. Forty-eight non-insulin dependent diabetic males were compared with eighteen non-diabetic age & sex-matched controls. There was significantly higher cognitive impairment in the diabetic group compared to the control group when cognitive function was tested using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE).
