Decompression of Axillary Vein: An Essential Adjunct for Advanced Lymphedema.

Background: In advanced lymphedema, lymphovenous anastomosis (LVA) can be a solution based on using the pressure gradient between the high-pressure lymphatics and the low-pressure veins. If the vein pressure is high, the effect of surgery will be less optimal. This study evaluated the effect of axillary vein perivascular scar release on LVA.

Utility of Multimodal Treatment Protocols in the Management of Scalp Cutaneous Angiosarcoma.

Unlabelled: Cutaneous angiosarcomas are rare, aggressive tumors with high recurrence and poor prognosis. We share our experiences with the challenging surgical management of these lesions, focusing on both ablative and reconstructive outcomes.

Methods: Retrospective cross-sectional chart review was conducted of patients diagnosed with scalp cutaneous angiosarcoma between 2005 and 2021.

Fibro-osseous pseudotumor of the digit: Case report and surgical experience with extensive digital lesion abutting on neurovascular bundles.

Background: Fibro-osseous pseudotumor (FOPD) of the digit is a rare benign lesion of subcutaneous tissue characterized by fibroblastic proliferation and osteoid formation. Herein, we present a case of massive FOPD lesion in the base of ring finger with extensive involvement of the neurovascular bundles with challenging surgical approach.

Case Description: A 27-year old female patient, presented with 7-months history of a progressively enlarging mass on her left hand.

Current knowledge of burn injury first aid practices and applied traditional remedies: a nationwide survey.

Background: Burn first aid awareness has been shown to reduce morbidity and mortality. We present a report on the knowledge and practices of the Saudi population with regard to burn first aid and the application of traditional remedies.

Methods: An internet-based survey was conducted to assess the public's knowledge on first aid practices and home remedies applied for burn injuries among Saudi adults.

Mazabraud's syndrome: Report of its first incidence in the Middle East and a literature review.

Introduction: Mazabraud's syndrome, a rare benign disease with indolent course, is best described as an association between soft tissue myxoma and fibrous dysplasia of the bones. In this report, we describe the first case of this syndrome from Saudi Arabia.

Case Presentation: A 24-year-old male in overall good health status, presented with progressive left knee swelling over 6 years with no other associated symptoms.

Pain on administration of non-alkalinised lidocaine for carpal tunnel decompression: A comparison between the Gale and the "advancing wheal" techniques.

Methods: This study compares two methods of administration of non-alkalinised lidocaine for carpal tunnel decompression in volunteers as well as in patients undergoing carpal tunnel release: The Gale subcutaneous injection technique and another subcutaneous injection technique known as the "advancing wheal" technique. The comparison was done in nine male volunteers and in 20 patients. In the volunteer part of the study, both hands were injected and, hence, each volunteer acted as his own control.

Fibronectin and craniofacial surgery.

Fibronectin is an essential component of the extracellular matrix. The role of fibronectin in craniofacial surgery has not been previously reviewed. Fibronectin mediates bone differentiation and development of the skull.
