Cytoreductive nephrectomy (CN) has historically shown benefit for select patients with mRCC, but its role and timing are not well understood in the era of immunotherapy. Locally advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma (aUC) presents a significant challenge with high mortality rates. Platinum-based chemotherapy remains the established frontline standard of care, and a switch-maintenance strategy with immunotherapy has now emerged as a new standard for aUC patients without disease progression, following initial platinum therapy. Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is common in critically ill children with significant mortality and morbidity. Serum creatinine is an insensitive and late biomarker compared to newly proposed AKI biomarkers.

Methods: Prospective study in pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) over three months to compare between serum cystatin-C (s-Cys-C) and urinary neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (uNGAL) as AKI biomarkers at multiple time points with pediatric risk, injury, failure, loss, end-stage renal disease (pRIFLE) classification in diagnosing AKI.

Dravet syndrome (DS) is a severe epilepsy syndrome characterized by early onset of multiple types of seizures. We report the first case of reflex seizures triggered by diaper change in a girl at 9 months old and 2 years old with a mutation in the SCN1A gene causing DS. Reflex seizures have been reported in patients with DS provoked by increased body temperature or visual stimulation.
