To address the issue of automated apple harvesting in orchards, we propose a YOLOv5-RACF algorithm for identifying apples and calculating apple diameters. This algorithm employs the robot operating dystem (ROS) to control the robot's locomotion system, Lidar mapping, and navigation, as well as the robotic arm's posture and grasping operations, achieving automated apple harvesting and placement. The tests were conducted in an actual orchard environment.

To reveal the impact of cadmium stress on the physiological mechanism of lettuce, simultaneous determination and correlation analyses of chlorophyll content and photosynthetic function were conducted using lettuce seedlings as the research subject. The changes in relative chlorophyll content, rapid chlorophyll fluorescence induction kinetics curve, and related chlorophyll fluorescence parameters of lettuce seedling leaves under cadmium stress were detected and analyzed. Furthermore, a model for estimating relative chlorophyll content was established.

Article Synopsis
  • Agricultural multifunctionality is becoming more important due to environmental changes affecting sustainable farming, but there's limited research on how it's adapting amid rapid urbanization.
  • The study in the Yangtze River Delta found significant farmland loss (87.1%) due to urban sprawl from 1995-2015, but a 23.2% increase in agricultural multifunctionality value, mainly from food provision and cultural leisure.
  • Factors influencing this multifunctionality shifted over time from agricultural labor to GDP, suggesting that socio-economic conditions and natural resources shape its adaptive changes in different cities, highlighting the need for land use policies that balance urban growth with agricultural sustainability.
