Antibiotic misuse and bacterial resistance are pressing issues threatening public health. Natural plant extracts with bactericidal properties offer potential alternatives to reduce or replace antibiotic use. This study aims to develop a thermosensitive hydrogel containing daphnetin (DAP-TG) using poloxamers 407 (P407), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), and poloxamers 188 (P188).

The pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease (AD), a multifactorial progressive neurodegenerative disease associated with aging, is unclear. Ethyl caffeate is a plant polyphenol that has been reported to have neuroprotective effects, but the mechanisms by which it acts are unclear. In this study, for the first time, we investigated the molecular mechanism of its anti-AD properties using the Caernorhabditis elegans model.

Article Synopsis
  • * Twelve new sesquiterpenoids, named salcavalins A-L, were isolated from the plant, and their structures were determined using advanced scientific techniques.
  • * Some salcavalins showed significant biological activities, including anti-inflammatory effects and neuroprotective potential, as well as phytotoxicity against radish seeds, supporting their use in natural medicine.

A new clerodane diterpenoid, crotolanin A (), along with three known clerodane diterpenoids, crotoeurin B (), teucvidin () and teucvin (), was isolated from the ethanol extract of the leaves and twigs of Benth. Their structures were identified by extensive NMR spectroscopic and HRESIMS analyses. The dopaminergic neuroprotective activity of compounds - was tested by using transgenic pathological model.

In order to explore the effect of strain on diverging post-hatch muscle properties, muscle regulation during embryo development was investigated in selected and unselected breeds. Four broiler strains were used: JingNing (JN) chicken (a Chinese native chicken), HuangYu (HY) broiler, BaiYu (BY) broiler and Hyline layer (commercial crossbred chickens). Results showed that the four breeds had almost the same characteristic during different incubation periods.

Aim: To investigate the effects of sodium sulfonate daidzein (SSD) on stress-induced gastric ulcer and explore its possible mechanism.

Methods: Using exhausted swimming and counting the number of gastric ulcer to establish the model of stress-induced gastric ulcer. Mouse experience intraperitoneal injection of different doses of SSD and L-NAME, and NDP histochemical method was used to detect the changes of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) positive neurons in stomach.
