The Planetary Health Diet (PHD), also known as the EAT-Lancet reference diet, was developed to optimize global dietary quality while keeping the environmental impacts of food production within sustainable planetary boundaries. We calculated current national and global adherence to the PHD using the Planetary Health Dietary Index (PHDI). In addition, we used data on diet and mortality from three large US cohorts (n = 206,404 men and women, 54,536 deaths) to estimate the total and cause-specific mortality among adults 20 y of age and older that could be prevented by shifting from current diets to the reference PHD.

We aimed to evaluate the associations of plant-based diet index (PDI), healthful PDI (hPDI), and unhealthful PDI (uPDI) with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk and explore potential contributing factors among people with prediabetes and diabetes.
Methods: A total of 17,926 participants with prediabetes and 7798 with diabetes were enrolled from the UK Biobank between 2006 and 2010 and followed until the end of 2020.
-In the digital music era, accurate and trustworthy track recommendations for musical dance electronic products are becoming increasingly important to improve user experiences and attract more consumers. Consumer behavior modeling is critical in user interest learning and has been extensively used in recommender systems to improve recommendation accuracy. This paper proposes a novel AI-empowered consumer behavior analysis method for trustworthy track recommendations over musical dance electronic products.

We analysed data from 204,615 participants (79% females) in three large US cohorts over up to 36 years, examining the associations between iron intake and T2D risk. We also assessed plasma metabolic biomarkers and metabolomic profiles in subsets of 37,544 (82% females) and 9,024 (84% females) participants, respectively.

Herein, several new conjugated polymers with D-D-A structures were easily prepared through one-pot coupling using triphenylamine (D) as well as thiophenes (D) as electron donors and benzothiadiazole (A) as electron acceptors. Interesting, their optical performance and power conversion efficiency could be tuned by side chains on thiophenes (D).

We developed a Planetary Health Diet Index (PHDI) to quantify adherence to the EAT-Lancet reference diet.
Objectives: We aimed to assess associations between PHDI and total and cause-specific mortality in 3 prospective cohorts of males and females in the United States.
The association of gut microbial features with type 2 diabetes (T2D) has been inconsistent due in part to the complexity of this disease and variation in study design. Even in cases in which individual microbial species have been associated with T2D, mechanisms have been unable to be attributed to these associations based on specific microbial strains. We conducted a comprehensive study of the T2D microbiome, analyzing 8,117 shotgun metagenomes from 10 cohorts of individuals with T2D, prediabetes, and normoglycemic status in the United States, Europe, Israel and China.

Objectives: We aimed to characterize the metabolomics signatures of a high-sodium and low-potassium diet in a cross-sectional study.
Methods: In 1028 healthy older adults from the Women's and Men's Lifestyle Validation Studies, we investigated the association of habitual sodium and potassium intakes measured by 2 to 4 24-h urine samples with plasma metabolites (quantified using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry) and metabolomic pathways.
Background: A healthy lifestyle is associated with a lower premature mortality risk and with longer life expectancy. However, the metabolic pathways of a healthy lifestyle and how they relate to mortality and longevity are unclear. We aimed to identify and replicate a healthy lifestyle metabolomic signature and examine how it is related to total and cause-specific mortality risk and longevity.

However, little is known about metabolites that may be predictors of MetS incidence or reversion. Our objective was to identify plasma metabolites associated with MetS incidence or MetS reversion.

We investigated a basis for the assessment of visual quality after cataract surgery by analysing the ultrasound biomicroscopic characteristics of the biological parameters of the lens in patients with CARC.
Methods: In this retrospective study, 119 patients (50 males and 69 females, totalling 238 eyes) with CARC who underwent simple cataract surgery were selected.
Aims/hypothesis: Diets with higher inflammatory and insulinaemic potential have been associated with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. However, it remains unknown whether plasma metabolomic profiles related to proinflammatory/hyperinsulinaemic diets and to inflammatory/insulin biomarkers are associated with type 2 diabetes risk.
Methods: We analysed 6840 participants from the Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study to identify the plasma metabolome related to empirical dietary inflammatory pattern (EDIP), empirical dietary index for hyperinsulinemia (EDIH), four circulating inflammatory biomarkers and C-peptide.
Experimental studies reported biochemical actions underpinning aging processes and mortality, but the relevant metabolic alterations in humans are not well understood. Here we examine the associations of 243 plasma metabolites with mortality and longevity (attaining age 85 years) in 11,634 US (median follow-up of 22.6 years, with 4288 deaths) and 1878 Spanish participants (median follow-up of 14.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the associations of individual dietary sugars with CHD risk.
Methods: In prospective cohort studies, we followed 76,815 women (Nurses' Health Study, 1980-2020) and 38,878 men (Health Professionals Follow-up Study, 1986-2016).
Background/objective: Several body components are known to be associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in children. However, the relative contributions of soft tissue mass components as risk or protective factors of NAFLD are largely unknown because measurements of these components are often highly correlated. Therefore, we aimed to estimate levels of association between soft tissue mass components and NAFLD.

We propose a scheme to operate a bistable switch with convertible CPA and/or CPR. Generally, CPA and CPR occur with different input-field phases.

Methods: Prospective study with 55 patients with cortical age-related cataract proposed for phacoemulsification, examined using a Compact Touch STS UBM (Quantel Medical, France). UBM bag/balloon technology was applied to measure the central anterior chamber depth (ACD) and lens vault (LV) in horizontal and vertical orientation in sitting and supine positions, angle opening distance (AOD500), trabecular iris angle (TIA) and iris lens angle (ILA) in four quadrants: superior, inferior, nasal, and temporal.
Background: Chronic atrophic gastritis is a significant premalignant lesion of gastric carcinoma. There is a great need to prevent the progression to gastric carcinoma through early intervention and treatment for chronic atrophic gastritis. Weifuchun, a famous Chinese patent drug, has been widely used for chronic atrophic gastritis in China.
