Angiopoietin-like protein 2 (ANGPTL2) stimulates inflammation and is important in the pathogenesis of diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Irbesartan is helpful in reducing diabetes-induced renal damage. In this study, the effects of irbesartan on DKD and its renal protective role involving ANGPTL2 in DKD rats were examined.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores how low doses of formononetin promote the growth of nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells (CNE2) and identifies key signaling pathways involved in this process.
  • - Treatment with formononetin increased cell proliferation and reduced apoptosis, effects that were negated when specific inhibitors targeting MAPK/ERK (PD98059) and miR-375 were applied.
  • - In experiments with ovariectomized rats, formononetin also influenced uterine growth, suggesting it operates through the ERα-miR-375-PTEN-ERK1/2-bcl-2 signaling pathway to enhance cell and tissue proliferation.
