Kom. (Fabaceae), a commonly used folk medicine, has been found to possess antitumor effects. However, the antiproliferative effect of 2,4-dihydroxy-3'-methoxy-4'-ethoxychalcone (DMEC) derived from against multiple myeloma (MM) has never been investigated.

In the present study, Nrf2 recombinant adenovirus (Ad) vectors were constructed. The protein levels of Nrf2 in the nucleus and of the Nrf2‑regulated gene products heme oxygenase‑1 (HO‑1) and NAD (P)H‑quinone oxidoreductase‑1 (NQO1), were detected using western blot analysis in PC12 cells following 48 h of transfection.

Using the same standardized animal model, we have now designed a set of experiments to test the hypothesis that LPS preconditioning attenuates stress-related apoptotic processes early after spinal cord trauma. The lower thoracic spinal cord injury in adult female Sprague-Dawley rats was caused by a 10 g weight rod drop from 25 mm on the dural surface of the exposed spinal cord at T10.
