Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to investigate how postoperative adjuvant transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) impacts the recurrence of liver cancer (HCC) after surgery.
  • Researchers analyzed data from 118 HCC patients who either had surgery followed by TACE or surgery alone between 2011 and 2013.
  • Results showed that patients receiving two TACE treatments had a significantly higher three-year relapse-free survival rate (73.0%) compared to those getting one treatment (55.0%) or those with surgery alone (29.3%), indicating that TACE may help reduce tumor recurrence after surgery.

Background: Postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) is the most common critical complication after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) and a primary reason for increased mortality and morbidity after PD. To perform a safe pancreaticojejunostomy (PJ), a fast and simple technique of duct-to-mucosa PJ with one-layer suture was devised at our institution.

Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of 81 successive cases of PD performed at our hospital from March 2012 to August 2016.
