Protein kinase C-α (PKC-α) is a serine/threonine protein kinase categorized within the lipid-regulated PKC family. Despite considerable research on PKC-α in various vertebrates, information about its presence and characteristics in lampreys-among the few extant jawed vertebrates and the most primitive-remains limited. In this study, we report the first identification of a PKC-α-like gene in lamprey by successfully cloning its coding region, composed of 1683 base pairs that encode 560 amino acids, from the constructed cDNA library of Lampetrajaponica.

In this study, we investigated the expression levels of miR-224-3p and inflammatory factors in the lens epithelium of patients with high myopia cataract (HMC) to determine how miR-224-3p/ACSL4 affects ferroptosis and inflammation in human lens epithelial cells (HLECs). The capsule tissues (including lens epithelial cells) of 36 patients with HMC and 36 patients with age-related cataract (ARC) were taken respectively. 18HMC and 18ARC capsule tissues were selected for RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) and the rest were used for qPCR assays.

We performed a network meta-analysis (NMA) to examine this in ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD).

Methods: We searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on the efficacy and safety of MTTs as adjuvant therapies for IBD until December 10, 2023.

Therefore, this study utilizes network pharmacology, molecular docking techniques, and molecular dynamics simulations to explore the key active components, core target genes, and potential mechanisms of MHFZXXD in the treatment of elderly bronchial asthma. Active components and related targets of MHFZXXD were identified through the retrieval and screening of the TCMSP, Swiss Targets Prediction, and Uniprot databases.
