Background: The use of grafts from donation after circulatory death (DCD) overcomes the inadequate donor organ supply. Our team developed a transportable dual hypothermic oxygenated machine perfusion (DHOPE) device, which initiates DHOPE at a recipient center to reduce static cold storage (SCS) time and the risk of graft failure in DCD liver transplantation.

Methods: Six porcine livers per group with 30 min of warm ischemia exposure were preserved via SCS or DHOPE for 6 h and then reperfused for 12 h with whole blood to mimic transplantation.

The practical application of sulfur (S) cathodes in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries is hindered by the shuttling of soluble lithium polysulfides (LiPSs) and sluggish sulfur redox kinetics. Cytosolic isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase (IARS1) deficiency, an exceptionally rare autosomal recessive inherited disorder, is characterized by multiple system involvement, including growth retardation, intellectual developmental disorder, hypotonia, and hepatopathy. Pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (PAP) is a rare phenotype of IARS1 deficiency, having been reported in only two siblings from the same family. In this study, we present a case of IARS1 deficiency in a 5-month-old boy, who exhibited PAP as the initial and predominant manifestation.

To achieve the goals of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" and sustainable development, we propose "Three-Dimensional Environment-Friendly" materials to balance the urgent need for the development of clean energy and the reduction of secondary environmental pollution during adsorbent preparation. In this study, three novel chitosan adsorbents (CMNSC-Leu, CMNSC-Pro, CMNSC-Phe) for uranium adsorption were designed on the basis of molecular level and successfully synthesized with three different amino acids (leucine, proline, phenylalanine) through amidation reaction in an aqueous environment using a sustainable green chitosan material. A lightning current measurement method using a Rogowski coil based on an integral circuit with low-frequency attenuation feedback was proposed to address the issue of low-frequency distortion in the measurement of lightning currents on transmission lines using Rogowski coils. Firstly, the causes of low-frequency distortion in lightning current measurements using Rogowski coils were analyzed from the perspective of frequency domains. On this basis, an integration correction optimization circuit with a low-frequency attenuation feedback network was designed to correct the low-frequency distortion.

Nowadays, it is still elusive and challenging to discover the active sites of cobalt (Co) cations in different coordination structures, though Co-based oxides show their great potency in catalytic ozone elimination for air cleaning. Herein, different Co-based oxides are controllably synthesized including hexagonal wurtzite CoO-W with Co in tetrahedral coordination (Co) and CoAl spinel with dominant Co, cubic rock salt CoO-R with Co in octahedral coordination (Co), MgCo spinel with dominant Co in octahedral coordination (Co), and CoO with mixed Co and Co. The valences are proved by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and the coordinations are verified by X-ray absorption fine structure analysis.

Chronic liver injury leads to progressive liver fibrosis and ultimately cirrhosis, a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Molecular dynamic simulations of aqueous mixtures of imidazolium ionic liquids (ILs) were performed to elucidate the dependence of the ionic diffusivity on the microscopic structures changed by water. Two distinct regimes of the average ionic diffusivity () were identified with the increased water concentrations: the jam regime with slowly increased and the exponential regime with rapidly increased , which are found to be directly correlated to the ionic association. Further analysis leads to two general relationships independent of IL species between and the degree of ionic association: (i) a consistent linear relationship between and the inverse of ion-pair lifetimes (1/τ) in the two regimes and (ii) an exponential relationship between normalized diffusivities () and short-ranged interactions between cations and anions (), with different interdependent strengths in the two regimes.
